That sucks, but least it's not a textured ceiling. Those are miserable to reapair.
Some water in the basement through the concrete, nothing major yet, knock on wood

That SUCKS! I'm not mocking you, really I'm not. Preventive medicine goes a long way. Sometimes MUCH easier said than done, though...
oh preventative would have been nice, but considering it took me several hours just TO GET to where the water is becoming a problem its not something that i even considered would be an issue....
but yeah the rest of this weekend is just getting the snow cleared and then start ripping up all the work i just did in that room...
heres a pic of what i had to go through just to get to the front of the house... mind you its all cleared out now and i am working on the roof today....

Water coming in from roof now, all the way down into basement, broke off the Hoover dams on my roof all seems ok for now
We had a waterfall in our livingroom. Luckily damage was limited. Our sheetrock is magical. It doesn't seem to stain or sag.
I have shoveled my roof off twice so far, working on ice damns now, water leaking in out kitchen, livingroom, my bedroom and on our entrance to our house, we almost cant open the front door anymore
Ook what is the possibility of this waters leak being a one time deal ? I live in an old house. That is converted. Into three Apt. Wallpaper. Is cold moist. On almost every wall. I'm sure it needs a new roof without looking.
Where these unusual One of a kind. Conditions with the amount of snow then freze and ice. ?

Do what I did. Cover them with 1/4" sheetrock and convert them to flat ceilings. The 1/4" stuff is a breeze to work with, very light and very stiff. Find and mark the strapping first though.Quote:
