Western MA/Southern NH/VT Meet&Greet Ride

Hey all, I am planning on setting up a ride in August to get forum members from here to get together, meet, eat, and ride.

The plan- is to have people meet at my house in Central Mass. (Templeton) on Friday the 5th of August in the afternoon/evening. We can have a BBQ with food and brews, work on bikes, chat, meet and greet, and so forth. People can camp out in the back field and we will leave for the ride Saturday morning.

The route- take Route 2 west to the Mohawk Trail, then down route 8 to the Westfield area, then a few roads to get onto 116 (Great road) back to route 2 and back to Templeton. If time permits and people want to we can head up to NH/VT and ride some roads up there. This is all preliminary at the moment and we can change the route if people would like. Just as long as we get a full day of riding in and rip up the twisties!

The pace- I ride about 10 or so over the limit on the straight sections of road, passing in a passing zone if necessary, and riding more spirited in the twisties. No one gets left behind, ride your own safe pace.

116 sucks! mohawk trail is slick... dunno why it's got vt in the title though.

It is because as a group we can pick a route and maybe some people want to head to VT. I don't know of many roads up there but I am sure others like yourself do. Basically the more people from New England the better.

Hell yea I'm in. I've been trying to find some people to ride with but cant seem to do it on the other forum in I'm. J4eric ^^ told me about this forum. Glad I found it! I know nothing about the roads around here. Just moved to the area. But I'd deff be willing to go wherever!

I forgot who told me this years ago. Go to a local bicycle shop and buy a Western Ma road map. It will have the roads less traveled marked. I did just that and have found a lot of great roads to ride my motorcycle.

Yes, this ride is still on! I will PM everyone my address. Please come prepared to camp out in my field, if anyone would like to bring brews or food that is fine, I was thinking of just BBQing around like 7 or so. What do you all think?

still planing on coming to this, typical busy with work and all that jazz keeps me from posting.

7 sounds good. I live about 1.5 hrs away. so it'll take me that long to get there after work (ends at 5) so that should work perfect. What kind of food should i bring? hamburgs? hot dogs?

OH yea, was going to polity request some couch space :). Camping is cool and all, but im going to ride my bike out and I gotta travel light.
