Re: THRUXTON DOWN! pain meds up
What is the washboard? Sounds dangerous enough...but I'm not familiar with the road. Sorry to hear about your accident, glad to hear it wasn't worse!
Heal up quick!

Re: THRUXTON DOWN! pain meds up
Holy chit...
I actually had the same thing happen to me about 10 years ago going up Mt. Uncaonnounik. Broke a thumb and rode the Dos Equis back to Naults. Washboarded me right off the road...
Heal up dude....

there is a section where 16 goes into 2 lanes(slow stay right). Right lane is smooth but the left lane has many perpendicular sharp heaves and breaks. i've avoided it in the past just for comfort. Wasn't really hard on the gas but the front end came unsettled and before I could even really realize what was happening i heard the skeetch sound of my tire and away i went. don't know if high or low sided it went so quick.

i know exactly where youre talking about. its like that in both directions and only in the passing lane. its really bad in the winter, even worse in a pick up truck.

Re: THRUXTON DOWN! pain meds up
Thanks for the well wishes folks. Pics of the bike look like it held up well considering. The fact the left exhaust has dirt in it makes me wonder when it went backwards. Looking at the helmet makes me a beleiver in them. It seems my face road the yellow line a bit. The back even has scratches going around. I need to find out if my gear is covered by my ins.

Believe it or not, they'll tell you it's covered under your homeowner's policy. I told 'em to fuck off and they eventually covered all my shit. 'Course, that was some time ago...

Re: THRUXTON DOWN! pain meds up

Re: THRUXTON DOWN! pain meds up
Heal up quick!
Yes, all of your gear is covered in an accident. Usually they ask you to provide the itemized list with prices and they just cut you a check.
