What do you have, are you happy with them, did you shop around first? If you've had to file a claim, were they responsive and did they pay out as stated in the policy, or did they try to wriggle out of it (or flat out deny it)?
Especially interested in Liberty Mutual, Vermont Mutual, Commerce, and Amica, or other recommendations in MA. Also interested to know if you went straight to the specific company, or work with an independent insurance agent who represents different carriers.

Commerce. Had them for 12 years. One claim on house settled very quickly and efficiently. I use an agent. B.J Kirby in Whitman, MA. I talk to Maggie there. Very personable, very good.
I have Commerce, because I also have 2 cars, a motorcycle, and a trailer insured with them and the rates were good. It's the bundle mentality. I've been with Commerce for close to 15 years and haven't had a homeowner's claim yet (knock on wood).
I have had auto claims though, and they're usually very good with the whole process.
Another vote for Commerce here. We haven't had it for long, but so far so good. Great rates too!

I recommend using an independent agent rather than dealing direct with the underwriter. they will shop around for you, explain things, help with claims, etc.
We use Amica, they are the best hands down. We've converted all our friends and family to Amica customers and have never heard a complaint ever.

No thanks, I would much rather eliminate the middle man. They might help you get the best price, but they definitely won't get you the best service when you need it.Quote:

Are you sure your bike is bundled? Only reason I ask is my house/truck is with a discount but they refused to include the bike they said some bs about how its always separate from everything else.Quote:

Commerce here too. Cars, bike and house. Made 1 claim, no issues.
I have Liberty Mutual for homeowners, flood, and 3 cars. Contact Sandra Maloney 508-238-5918 Ex. 52445. She's super nice girl, helpful, and motivated. Everyone I've sent to her, she was able to beat prices, and provide great customer service.
Allstate for all vehicles and home.
I have been very happy with them.
Two claims settled in 20 years with no hassles.
Bundling is a cost saver.

State Farm here (Middleofnowhere, NH). We use 'em for everything. Never had a problem, although claims on anything have been few & far between...
Progressive. I have them for two years now and no issues so far but planning to claim for a roof repair. I got them from YepMarket.
Amica is an excellent company - great rep, great customer servise and claim handling.
Sure, I shopped around, why wouldn't you?! How else you find the best price (from the companies that made your list ofcourse).
The past 35 years, I've used the same insurance agency, but switched underwriters a half dozen times. for different reasons, always $$$ considerations, one time I made a claim, when the next renewal came the price was jacked up, switched to another company. Then when I started running a home business, I had business considerations but at recommendation of agent, use same company for both, it will make things easier in event of claim
sure enuf, windy day tree falls on power line 300 feet from my house, does not knock power out but tugs on pole and my dropline enuf to rip meter off my house and send power surge into every circuit in my house, luckily, I was a believer in surge protectors but still had $5k in damage
when I made the claim on the business policy first thing I heard was no, your homeowners covers that. do which I replied, I don't care which policy, I have both with your company, claim check came within a couple days
had that company (Peerless) for over 20 years, last year, my agent had me switch to Hartford, I'm paying more for homeowners, but big savings on the commercial end with huge business auto savings
