Is when people wait 'til they're right in front of the 'exact change only' toll booth before they bother to check to see if they even have it!!
And what of those fuckers that decide they just can't wait for those TWO cars in front of them and shoot across three lanes just to get to the open booth?

Yeah, and what is also a pain is when bikers pull up to the regular booths with absolutely NO preparation, and make you wait for several minutes while they dick around trying to make payment.
On the way home from Loudon, I made it a point to pull to the right, and make sure I had a single dollar bill all set to hand over, and then rejoined the line. This is something I usually do WELL in advance (by leaving a few singles in the back pocket of my tank bag - closest to me).
Anyway, I rejoined the line, only to sit for 10 minutes while other bikers dicked around in front of me. What happened to preparation?
OR, you be fucken SMART like ME and avoid the toles all together.
I won't mention any names, but there was this one time, on the way home, we put dollar bills in the exact change booths, oh it was funny.:)

Yeah, Stoneman told me of a GREAT way to avoid the tolls coming south from NH into MASS. It's called RT 13, and because much of it has just been repaved - it ROCKS!

i also hate when your going thru the tolls and the guy behind you says he forgot his money at home, so he asks you to spot him. :poke: :poke: :drink:
I haven't played around with the EZ-PASS lanes in NH but I have found that in MA using the Fast-Lanes, if you go slow and hug the left most edge of the lane, the system will not even register that you went through the booth. Hooray free tolls!
I do have my motorcycle listed on my Fast-Lane account though so if something goes wrong and they ticket me I can just call them up and ask them what the hell they are doing since my bike is on the account.

I like to pay the toll for the people behind me sometimes. Confuses the hell out of them.
A 35mm film cannister is the perfect size for storing quarters or tokens, just fill one up and stick it in your pocket or a pouch on your tank bag. I usually can pay without having to take both gloves off.
Rte 13 is waaaayyy more expensive then paying the toll....grrrrrr :redface: :redface:
I'm one of those guys who pisses people that are behind me, I fumble, quartes in a film container, bwaaah I can't get my hand into a pocke or oben a zipper without taking my gloves off, then after I pay the toll, I do as good imitation of OJ in a courtroom getting my gloves back on

Works great on strangers, but can be used if there is someone you know behind you as well. Just pay for their toll and tell the tollbooth monkey that your friend is too poor to pay the toll. :DQuote:

Both Fast Lane and EZ-Pass can work well over 60MPH but they have the ability to clock you going through the tolls so I would be careful. You never know when they will start ticketing people. When MA installed Fast Lane, they didn't ticket people at first including people that ran through the toll without a transponder. When they started enforcing it, lots of people got stung. Not only can they measure your speed, they take a picture of you speeding or running the toll. It is just a matter of time before they start enforcing it as it is an excellent revenue generator.Quote:

Here is a scary capability of the system that hasn't been implemented yet. The system keeps track of the time you go through a toll booth. If you are on a road with multiple booths, the system could calculate your average speed from booth to booth.

while i agree that that is scary. i do not think it can be reasonably implemented. say im doing speeding and then i stop at a reststop or get stuck in a traffic jam. then your avg speed dropsQuote:

also they could implement it into the tickets side as well. each ticket could have a id# system records when it leaves, and when you get to to the next toll, as the collect scans it, he can see you left a toll 65 miles away and made it there in 40 minutes, but that also goes with what i said earlier about ezpass. you could speed but stop and kill your avg mph
