Where to get a custom tune?
Alright gear heads, I've finally done enough crap to my bike that I'm ready to stop using my OTS tune, especially with my first year dabbling in racing approaching. I've received a couple recommendations, but would like a general consensus from a broader sample.
I will be partial to anyone that is known to have experience with Triumphs, since they are bastards of the sport bike world.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
Dyno Solutions in CT. John is great at what he does.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
The pit stop, New Bedford.
Adrenaline cycles, Swansea.
Any place with a motorcycle dyno.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
I'm headed to Dynosolutions this saturday. John is awesome and knows how to tune for racing. He won't be at all concerned with peak HP. Roll on performance is where it's at on the track. He did a fantastic tune on my 675, now for my R6

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
Paul,
Did Dynosolutions remap the ECU directly (the TuneECU way) did you use a power commander?

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
On the Tona We used Tune ECU. On the R6 we will be using Bazzaz. He's also very good with Powe Commander from what I hear.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
John has done my R6 and my R1..
They were both magical afterwards.
The R1 was one of the smoothest bikes I have ever ridden after he touched it. Mark (R7) raves about it to this day.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
I need to get my bike to John....the one window I had to get it done last year was the same time he was moving shops. Hoping to find some time this year, because I'm in the same boat as you.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
I'll be at Dyno Solutions in 3 weeks!

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
I'll tune your bike with a 8lb long handle sledge? Guarantee it'll run as good as my R6 does now when I'm done or I'll only charge double.
-
Re: Where to get a custom tune?
Adrenaline Cycles in Swansea does all of our dyno work. He has extensive experience with the Triumphs.

"Kurlon Tuning -- we're not happy 'til you're not happy"

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
Odd, I wasn't getting email notifications of replies... Thanks for all the input guys!
Paul, having seen your bike in action, I'm certainly feeling inclined to check out Dyno Solutions. The only crappy part is the 3 hour drive each way -_-. Adrenaline Cycles is the one that I was leaning towards.
Has anyone tried both and can offer a comparison? If Adrenaline is just as good, I'd love to save the 4 extra hours of driving.
Would also be great if they could help dial in the settings on my Annitori QS.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
Jay I didn't know you lived so close by. If you want, I'd be totally fine with taking your bike when I get mine tuned, if you don't care to be there. I'll have an extra spot on the trailer.

The R1 was day and night after he did his magic

Scott at Souhegan Valley Motorsports has done my last few bikes and several other racers and boy does he know his stuff!

That's another one I haven't heard of. Not too bad of a drive either.
So far Adrenaline is winning purely on distance; I didn't realize it's only a few minutes from where my gf goes to school as well.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
Justin at Adrenaline is also very good. Similar approach that Paul described regarding less focus on the peak power number and more on smoothness, rolling on the throttle, clean air/fuel delivery.

This is good to hear, as I think that's where I'm leaning towards, and that's the approach I'm looking for.
I appreciate all of the input about Dyno Solutions, especially since I hadn't heard of them before. Unfortunately that is just farther than I want to travel.
Since I had been recommended Adrenaline previously, and I know they have experience with Triumphs, I'm going to reach out to Justin. I'm also going to give Scott at SVM a call per Sav's recommendation, see what he has to say. I'll report back for those interested (probably just Jay as far as this thread goes) about who I choose to go with.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
I think Adrenaline is a good choice too, from what I hear.
All these places are 2 hours from me... Blah and now there's a winter storm for sat AM. Great.

All Sport Cycle Service in Orange, Jeff has a dyno and will dial as you ask. He's a grumpy dude, take johnny black with you.

Re: Where to get a custom tune?
Thanks, I went to Rob's? up that way once. Is it something in the water out that way?
I'm sticking with John at Dynosolutions. I get to actually do the programming myself while he operates the dyno, and he teaches me what's what. No grumps. I'll drive to do business with a great guy.

There is def. something in the water, lol.
