2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS
No buyers have come forward, I'm enjoying the bike too much, sold myself on keeping it, so I'm taking it off the market, for now anyway.
I bought this bike new from Souhegan Valley Motorsports in March 2016, and I’ve put on only 9711 miles. I think it's a great sport-touring machine, with lots of power from 2K rpm on up. ABS, Traction Control, and two ride modes. Clean bike, garaged, maintained and treated right by senior citizen. (One time I did execute a garage tip-over while pushing into the wheel chock, now has a couple of very small scrapes on the right side of the fairing, sorry.)
The Ninja is on the sport end of the sport-touring scale, and a lot of the changes I've made aim for comfort and smoothness.
Extras and upgrades include:
Rear shock re-worked by Traxxion Dynamics, sprung for 180# rider.
Mirror extenders.
SW-MotoTech “Blaze” saddlebags.
Murph’s bar risers.
HVMP SS bar end weights.
Stomp Grip knee grips.
Frame sliders.
Front axle sliders.
Stock seat re-worked by Spencer in Florida (greatdaytoride.com).
G2 Ergonomics Throttle Tamer throttle tube.
Extenda Fenda, front and rear.
ProGrip hand grips.
Re-geared from 15/41 to 16/39 per Motorcyclist magazine's long-term road test.
Recent Dunlop Roadsmart III tires and VESRAH ZD-355CT front brake pads.
Gold Plug magnetic drain plug, safety wired.
OSRAM High-output headlight bulbs.
Fresh brake fluid flush and bleed.
Oil & filter changed 1800 miles ago, new filter on hand.
Pigtail harness for battery tender & heated gear.
All stock parts saved.
Clear, clean MA title in my name in hand.
Additional parts not on the bike now that I'm selling off:
V-Stream sport-touring windscreen.
Seth Laam seat.
EvoTech tail tidy.
Rider peg lowering kit.
What else can I tell you?

Ha! A nice place to pull off and chill. First get breakfast at Forge Village Restaurant.
When I stopped there and took off my helmet, a fellow walking his dog told me he was shocked to see such an old guy riding that young man's bike.
I'd heard that before, "That's a young man's bike."
Thanks for the GLWS.

Today's pic. Here's the other screen mounted on the N1K, National Cycle V-Stream sport-touring screen.

Who else has visited this site? Let's see your pic.
PS -- screen FS separately at $75 (half price).

What's crazy is I can't even remember where the hell that photo was taken. That's my Bandit, which I sold in ~2011. I owned that bike for a decade. Image metadata says it was shot in 2003 using a Canon G3 camera. Pre-smart phone, so no gps meta-data attached. DARK AGES!

Ha! again. I'm using a *new* Canon compact camera, at least it's digital.
As to where, that's Forge Pond, Forge Village, Westford MA -- where 225 crosses the RR tracks.
Nice Bandit. I had an '02 -- 5-speed, carb'd -- for a year before I bought the Ninja.
Re: 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS
Mine was an '01. Those carbs were a bitch to get out and mine seemed to need cleaning every season. One of the only bikes I've owned that I do not miss very much.
Something tells me this Ninja won't be one of those for you.. (See how I am keeping this relevant!)

I guess it was the bank of carbs that got me to sell the Bandit, sold it before I had to pull them off. I liked riding the Bandit, but the loooong reach to the bars was tiring, and it was hefty, outweighed the Ninja by 50-60 lbs.
Meanwhile, the Ninja is *SO* low maintenance, oil & filter, lube the chain, check tire pressures ... and ride.

Here's what the bike looks like with the EvoTech tail tidy (and the taller screen fitted for cold weather):

Thanks, Gino!
Now the problems start ... again ... whenever I post this bike for sale and extol its many virtues, and others start chiming in about how fabulous a bike and what a great deal and GLWS and so on, I start convincing myself to keep it haha so no doubt I'll keep riding it and enjoying it, especially now that the doc gave me the green light for full activity after my July 26 laparoscopic hernia repair. :beerbang:
(TMI?)
Re: 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS
Went for a ride today on the N1K ... oh, so nice ... no nibbles on my ads ... thinking about posting something else for sale instead.
Kenn, I feel your pain ...
Re: 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS
My friend would be all over this bike if he could sell his one year old R1...alas, he is having a hard time as well. He regrets selling his Z1000 to get the R1

Thanks, Dan. Ya know, after riding yesterday, with bar risers in place and rider peg lowering blocks in place, I think I'll just keep it! And sell something else. Planning to post one of my vintage Triumphs next week. We'll see how that goes ... .
