When will it stop? I need a fix....
The thing about it that really blows goats is that if it the whole world does flood, it'll only increase the squid population.
Stupid clouds and their stupid rain.
Oh well, gives me some time to get a few odds and ends fixed up without feeling bad about having the bike apart and potentially miss a nice day to ride. :)
And with any luck, I could get tires mounted in the next week too. :D
I wish I'd delayed all my maintenance.. I spent several saturdays in my garage in April when I could have been out riding. Now the VFR is sitting in the garage perfectly clean, tuned up and ready to go, I may not hate rain as much as some but this is just insane.
On top of that I rebuilt my mountain bike with a bunch of new parts, I've been dying to ride that, and I've only gotten to ride it for 1 hour since the new parts went on, solid rain + muddy trails, kind of irresponsible for me to take it out.
I rode my bicycle on the road the other day in the rain and you'd have thought I took that through a mud pit... it is just a MESS out there.
edit: Nice now we even have a flood warning in effect! I was supposed to be taking my first weekend trip on the motorcycle for this year this weekend but with solid rain all 3 days forecast all across the entire route I've decided to take the car.
Yup, its been a flood warning for most of MA since last night, starting tonite? and lasting through Saturday I believe. :poke:
One last wet group ride and we can all meet at the ark.
Yah the question is this...
Is Noah going to take 2 motorcycles or 2 of each type of motorcycle?
You better swallow your pill...it's far from over. *evil laugh*
Throw that fat bastard over board. He doesn't even ride!
Off topic, hey Ben do you know where I might be able to find a halfway decent set of integrated V brake levers and 8 speed shifters? 8 speed seems to be a bit tricky to find these days. Looks like Ebay is the best bet.Quote:

Avoid integrated levers/shifters like the plague...
They are just a way to lock you in and pay even more when you break them or want to swap out parts...
I just learned that the hard way.
(At least for MTB - that is the only way to go for road bikes)
:stupid:
I think I have some SRAM shifters in a box in the basement. I'd let them joints go for pennies on the dollar...
Lemme look.
Bahfuckinshitbitchass...
The SRAM joints are 9spd. and I found some 8spd Deore LX shifter/lever combos, but the levers are for cantilever brakes.
See what happens, Larry...
but it's 2 fucking cool & damp out :hmm: :hmm:
if i had a dirty bike i would :D
I looked out my window and I think I saw a dry patch on the road outside today. Then it started raining again.
at least its dry in my garage...............
oh wait, the bikeis in pieces getting some new parts installed.
Well wether I like it or not, I HAVE TO take it out for a spin....to Northampton. Going to show the bike to a VERY interested girl... :D
Aww, thats not that far. Throw on a few trash bags and be on your way. :D
no one has water proof jackets? lol
Why spend the money? Trash bags are sleek and all shiny....looks good enough for me. :dunno:Quote:

The only water proof thing I need is to stay home when it's raining outside. :D I HATE riding in the rain!
Look like maybe a bit of sunshine tomorrow....
But probably not.
The Noobs, why should it stop us. :D

Nice, no eye protection. She should have failed the course right there and then for breaking the law.:D
I have been back and forth to New York 3 times in the last 2 weeks and have seen 15 - 20 people on motorcycles riding in the rain. I saw 3 today, and the rain was so hard I could only see the vehicle in front of me. All types too Harley's Gold Wings and Sportbikes.
This was Monday

Your windsheild is cracked.
...and that receipt you have been looking for for the last month is jammed down in between your windshield and your dashboard, about halfway along your left windshield wiper.Quote:

No Shit? Really? You are a sleuth. I can't believe someone as mechanically inclined as you had such a hard time fixing your own bike. :twofingerQuote:

I was going to put that disclaimer in , but figured it would give someone something to contribute :poke:
And thank you for making me go down 3 flights of stairs to see what was there. It's a rubber band. I had to go look because I hate things on my dash and wondered what it was.Quote:

I have no idea what you are talking about. We only have to pay 100% replacement cost for a windshield.
That has been broken for 3 years. It's due for another inspectionin August. I doubt it will "slide" through this time.
Stopped raining here in Beverly/Danvers for like three and a half minutes, but its back.....
Soggy.
Sun is out here in Lowell ,,, its been out for about an hour !!!!!!! I forgot what it looked like ............ It's pretty :fairy:

The sun was out for like 30 minutes here, then it was just bright clouds and sprinkled for awhile. Hell, I'll take bright clouds and sprinkles over dark grey ones and fucking pouring rain any day. :D
