2001 RC51 nicely set up for $4500 or b/0
01 SP1 needs its next best home, pass on the word if you can, she must go... :(
Hate to do it, but she has to go. New toy takes priority. She has treated me well, never left me stranded, and always provided the adreniline rush I needed! She will be missed.
At this time I am not thinking of parting it out, unless someone makes an offer for bare bones stock. Please refrain from asking unless it is for the additional parts listed in the paragraph "For Additional Cost"
Clean title in hand, delivery within 100 miles for $150 charge is available.
$4500 or B/O as she sits: 2001 in very good condition, some scratches on side cowlings, but overall in very good shape! Only downside is I enjoyed this bike very much and logged 44,000. Bike still purrs as if she was brand new. Well more of a sweet V-Twin growl! Recent oil change. New plugs prior to start of the 07 Season, run since Summer 06 with Water Wetter. Oil changed every 4-5 K. Only use Mobil 1 fully Synthetic Oil since the bike had 10K on her. Normal Oil change with Synthetic calls for oil changes 5-6K. Valves checked start of 07 season and did not need any adjustment, hasn’t required valve adjustment ever! A Finely tuned machine!
Extra's include: Moriwaki high mountTitanium serial # pipes, Ohlins' steering Dampner, with Harris upper fairing support. Corbin seat. Carbon Fiber Tank protector. CRG shorty / Gold levers. Quick adjust preload adjusters. Frame sliders. Custom blue led backlit display. Hotbodies undertail, custom plate bracket, Led tail lights w/integrated directionals. SST Front and rear brake lines. New brake pads recently installed. Flush mount front directionals. Nicky Case cover mod. Filter mod, Pair system Removal Mod, Flapper Valve Mod, Jim Ahlmans speedo healer, PCIII with correct map for the Moriwaki High mounts. 520 chain/sprocket convertion. SP2 forks, SP2 Front Cowling. Bike currently has good Michelin Pilot Powers with more than ½ life remaining.
For addition cost you can have a second set of SP2 wheels with Michelin Pilot Power CT2’s with lots of life remaining on them. Yoshimira low mountRS3 exhuast in perfect shape, left and right side cowling without frame slider cut outs. Or will sell separately.
** I also have all the stock parts that goes with the sale of the bike. (includes- Emission parts, rear peg assemblies, stock exhaust, stock seat, stock rear seat, stock control levers, stock directionals, stock second windscreen.**
Also available: Fule Pump (Used in good working order), Harris frame sliders (Brand New). SP1/SP2 convertion swingarm complete kit with 600RR hugger, stand spools, 02 brake caliper assembly. SP1 Yoshi low mount RS3 SSt in mint condition.

So very tempted. Though I dont think these bikes are known for being much of a two up ride.....
Must hold out for Triumph Tiger.....

You should really consider this bike since it is below your price range. You could also pick up the 02 swingarm kit from him and they you are really riding the new ones. Yeah it has some miles but he and the previous owner took tremendous care of that bike. It also has everything you will ever need mod wise. Hate to say it but you would be a fool not to consider this!

Re: 2001 RC51 nicely set up for $4500 or b/0
dont worry skiierx, it is on my list too. eyeballing a few bikes this weekend. just trying to not rush into anything. the end of today cant come fast enough

Re: 2001 RC51 nicely set up for $4500 or b/0
There's a guy on the RC forums with over 100k on his, and a few others with 70,000+. These bikes can definitely do the miles. I sold my 02 and I still kick myself in the ass sometimes.

Re: 2001 RC51 nicely set up for $4500 or b/0
Willing to take $4200 but I will be taking the PCIII, Corbin seat, Ohlins Dampner, CRG Shorty levers, and Tinted screen off and replacing it with stock.
I will put a PCII back in and leave the Moriwaki pipes with the correct mapping.
A Third option is. Taking the Moirwaki pipes off along with the other parts listed above, and replacing with stock will also be considered to drop the price to $3900.
Hell of a price with all of the goodies I have.
Oh one other option if you want to have the use of passenger pegs is I can swap the exhuast to the mint condition Yoshimira low mount pipes and the stock rear pegs. That price is also $4200
Who's gonna bite? Any best offers.

You should aim for the SP2 (2002+). Its the better of the two models and more parts are available.
-
Re: 2001 RC51 nicely set up for $4500 or b/0
Do you think a properly moded SP1 still doesn't compare to a SP2? I was looking to keep the price down too, but I'm admitedly just mildly educated... on the subject.

Most of the SP2s are just as heavily modded up. Mine is a good example. Ya it will cost you a little more but I think you can still find a good deal.

Re: 2001 RC51 nicely set up for $4500 or b/0
Thanks for the info guys, and just so I'm hearing you guys correctly, you'd suggest $7,000 for a SP2 over $4,200 for a SP1?
Seems like a big difference, but like I said, I'm stupid.

Well I dont know. The SP2 is a bit better setup then Mikes bike. I dont know if its worth 7k but I also havent seen the bike so I really dont have an educated opinion on it. I do know mine is setup better then both of them but its also not for sale. You could probably find a better deal if you went hunting around or you could try and work something out with Jamie. I guess it depends on how motivated he is to sell.

Re: 2001 RC51 nicely set up for $4500 or b/0
Chat with SkiierX, never hurts to talk. Maybe you guys can make a deal, I know he takes care of the bike and a few aftermarket goodies add up quick.

Re: 2001 RC51 nicely set up for $4500 or b/0
ya talk to skiierx and mycirus, both guys are super nice and were really helpful when i was looking for my rc. I have an 03 sp2 with 9k on the clock and picked it up for 4800. had it all apart this weekend and everythings clean on it. just keep your eyes peeled. also cruise speedzilla.com/forums too.
-
Re: 2001 RC51 nicely set up for $4500 or b/0
The price is lower than 7k these days. Not only am I open to selling for a little less I could also remove some of the items that I was including in that price.
