Too much $ for that kind of mileage and a bike of that age.
:stupid:
Agree with others... about $1500 too much
Where the hell do you people find a clean, street legal 2004 DRZ for under $2k?! Apaprently I know all the wrong people lol
Honestly $3200 doesn't seem far off the mark to me, if it's OBO they might do substantially less. Not a screaming hot deal but I see these regularly listed for higher locally
I'm not buying anything, just pointing out that around $3-3500 seems to be the going asking price for a clean DRZ400S at that age. Might be old but it doesn't mean they depreciate to shit. They hold their value well. Show me one example in NE of a *clean* DRZ400S going for under $2k. This isn't an iPhone that stops working after 5 years, well-maintained DRZs apparently run forever. Obviously if you're buying a project bike in the dead of winter you'll find some deals, but it's Spring now and unless you're willing to wait and pinch pennies and hunt for deals I honestly wouldn't know where to look for these elusive bargains you espouse
Hell, sell me a mint DRZ for $1700 and we might have a deal
Agreed, it would have to be pretty roached to sell for less than 2k. That bike seems in decent shape. Not sure miles matter at all.
you a buy-and-marry kinda guy?
or buy-slam-and-move-on kinda guy?
drz's will still blow up with enough miles...low miles + ride 10-15k miles + sell is an effective cost formula with these. May be hard to unload at that price point though.
2004 Suzuki DR-Z400S Motorcycle Trade-In Value | Kelley Blue Book
My general rule of thumb is that a private sale is worth about 10% more than "dealer trade" value.
thats a little rigid for me. I was going off what I know drz's to have sold for, s vs e, and the like. plus gut, since I have plenty of that.
Sorry boys, I'm not super familiar with them honestly. I just saw it and thought of this thread
It looks clean and well maintained. I would argue the value is more around $2300-2500 given the season is starting soon
ya another example...it's even a $2,500 bike in socal
2003 Kawasaki KLX400RS (Dual Sport) - motorcycles/scooters - by owner - vehicle automotive bike sale
Definitely don't pay that...dankatz is right...aim for below $2,500
Seems high when you can buy my 08 KTM plated for 4k
Buy a WR450F...............easy convert and not a slug DRZ
The going rate for a 2001-2009 dual sport DRZ, KLX250s, Yamaha 225/250 Etc (Not KTM) is around 2500.
I paid 2500 or 2800 (really forget)for this clean KLX250s with 2800 miles
Gary, you basically bought two bikes in one.
Also yours has like half the odometer ticks. Half.
Haha I’m comfortable with my buy!
I’ve owned a couple dozen bikes and learned that it’s worth a ton when a used bike is in very good shape and already set up just how you want it. I bought some side plastics and now it needs a rear tire, that’s about it. Counting the value of the spare wheels, the bike cost right in zxme’s range, anyway. Every drz I’ve seen for 1700 has serious deficiencies...
Yeah, that tire was spent. On the upside I think the Bridgestones on the SM set were practically brand new.
