With the DGR on May 19, it does not look like my Thruxton FE will be here.

If I ride it, I may just put a sign on the Tracer 9GT stating that it identifies as a Thruxton FE.

An acquaintance in Quebec, took delivery of his Thruxton FE last Friday, so they must be getting close.

It would be ironic if the US got them last because the gauges need to use our retarded imperial measurement system instead of the metric system the rest of the world uses!

Yes, the US came to be because it revolted against England, but we're sticking with the measurement system they gave us, even though they abandoned it long ago.

Super ironically, one of the only industries in America that has completely converted to the metric system is the illegal trade in cocaine. Somehow, the Mexican and SA cartels have convinced their US subsidiaries to switch, and everyone from importers to street level dealers seems to manage grams and kilograms just fine, but the rest of the country could never acclimate to a kilometer instead of a mile.

    ...or not...

Apparently the salesdude's statement that "the bike is 100% ready to go" did not include "and we've received the certificate of origin"

My older son just bought a new car and the dealership's first financing offer was about 14%, even though Honda is offering 4.9% and the kids got a house and an 800 credit rating. When he called it out they stated saying, "Well it's a preliminary number until we run your credit." Because he's my kid, he came back with, "So if I had agreed to this would you have come back to me after the deal was signed with a lower rate?"

The younger one is keeping the 2011 Pilot that I drove him and his buds to our middle school basketball games in hanging on for dear life. I don't think he'll buy a car until he can realistically just click on what he wants and have Amazon deliver it.

The world of anything with engines is too often populated by people for whom "sales prevention specialist" is the best job they can find...
