5/9/09:

So MA/NH have one of these threads but we don't. There is a Vermont thread like this on ADV but not everyone here is on ADV (and it's currently stuck in Southern Vermont).

So here we go...

Vermont NESR Tag-O-Rama.

Rules:

1. Find the tag and reproduce the photo (as best as possible). Take the tag to a new location, get the photo and post it here. Give a few hints so the next person can find. Try to place the tags in interesting locations, maybe a bit of history that can be found down some nice twisties.

2. Tag must be: a) findable & b) placed on a public road.

3. The first person to post a found tag gets to place the next tag. If you get a tag, but somebody else posts their picture first, you lose.

4. One tag at a time. File photos are NOT permitted. You gotta ride to play this game.

5. The next tag has to be within 50 miles of the last tag. So while it has the chance to get to a remote corner it'll take a while to get there.

6. To keep the tags moving, if you claim a tag please try to place the next tag that same day. The maximum time to place the next tag is 48 hours . If it takes you more than 48 hours to put up another tag, you fail.

7. After you've claimed one it would be great if you'd update the "found tags" Google Map. Optional. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...41699&t=h&z=12

I went out tonight to get the ball rolling and took this shot somewhere North of Burlington and South of St. Albans.

Ready...

Set...

Go!

Does the next one have to be within 50 miles?

Re: VT Tag-O-Rama

damn, i've driven there before, I just can't remember where it is...

I think the 50 mile limit is in order. that way people like mark don't pick something way up in the northeast corner that will never be found/ridden to again.

Yes. Updated rule: The next tag has to be within 50 miles of the last tag. So while it has the chance to get to a remote corner it'll take a while to get there.

I was within 5 minutes of it when I had to abandon ship. I couldn't bear the rain any longer. Plus it was still another 20 minutes back home in the downpour. Next time!

I only do that to the ADVrider guys. I got sick of it always being in southern VT so I moved it to Alburgh, about as far northwest as you can get in Vermont. Unfortunately now it's back down south, and I haven't had time to go reclaim it.

PS: Don't talk to me about the rain yesterday. I got it all the way from Barre back to Burlington on the way back from my Kancamagus ride. Right through the middle of the thunderstorm. I haven't seen it rain that hard in a long time, let alone ridden through it.

No, Doc, this rain made that little cloudburst last year look like a light sprinkle.

Is no one going to go claim Justin's tag? The ADV one is back in the northern half of the state too.

I thought for sure someone would've gotten it by now.

Good, this is getting sad. I tried to make it easy so it wouldn't last long.

Huh? The "tag" is your photo! But until you post it you haven't gotten shit.

3. The first person to post a found tag gets to place the next tag. If you get a tag, but somebody else posts their picture first, you lose.

you can send txt / pic from the cell to an email address, type in the address instead of the # and send it to yourself, then upload it.....if that is what you were saying.
