Oddly I just spotted these on CL today...
Would make for a ton of fun:

Definitely not done with dirt riding.
For some reason, my nature won't let me hold onto bikes for long. But... can't buy another one without selling this one.

You are full of surprises.
I'm just trying to increase my, "bikes you have owned" list to catch up to some others on the board.
Yep, you're the one I was thinking of as far as bikes owned.
I am not positive yet about the replacement. Step one is to use the cash to renovate one of my apartments... then I can use that rental income to pay for the new bike.

Won't take much to pass my bike history now...new house, a mortgage, and all the other bills, plus less time to ride = no new bikes for me for a while. Beside any toy I buy in the near future will either be green (John Deere) or orange (Kubota)
Of course for $3500 and 2 track days, I could be talked into a WR450![]()
Yamaha
That won't let me renovate much.
Maybe by the end of the season I'll be down that low, but not quite yet.
He's going to have to replace that WR with something similar if he want's to do some of the trickier riding out here. Or, maybe attach a winch to that KLR?![]()

Yeah... the KLR is definitely not for the "real" stuff.
I know this is probably not the best move financially, since it will certainly cost me a lot more to replace the WR with something similar.
I just checked and just the bike is going for $7000+... and that's NOT street legal and doesn't have any "goodies".

re: KLR
Actually, I made it through some relatively rough stuff with my bone-stock KLR, even with the OE tires. Just had to take it slow, and stay out of deep mud -- that thing LOVED to slide down into ruts. Rocks weren't much trouble. Again, at a very moderate pace. I don't think I ever dumped it, accept during a river crossing? With those tires you've got, and a nice skidplate, it should be cool for most riding.
BTW, I think most of the snow/ice is out of the woods around us now, so I'll be doing some exploring soon.

I agree... the KLR can go almost anywhere... but I have trouble keeping up when I have the better bike... never mind when I'm on the slow bike in the group.

Some more info...
The $4500 includes two free trackdays, a new battery, and a mirror mount.
The battery and mirror mount will run about $100.
The current battery was working at the end of last year, but doesn't seem to be holding a charge so I was going to replace it. Note that it is not needed necessarily, since there is a kick start too.
Anyway, here are some other options for you or anyone.
$4000 - no trackdays and you take the bike "as is"
$4100 - no trackdays, and I'll get the new battery and mirror mount
damn you for selling this not to me... I want a WR450 baaaaaddddd... totally don't have the cash. oh well![]()
