it was at night on a backroad that i never went up before. buddy was in front of me whippin and i was playin catch up. turn came up quick and before i know it i was in grass. lucky i had 3 people a distance behind me.
he crashed his bike a week later with his gf on it (they are ok)
i never really liked night riding just for that reason. imo the light output on the bike sucks and i hardly ever had it out at night.
i feel im a good rider accidents happen....
welcome... sorry to jump on this soo quickly but why do you think you're a good rider again??? b/c based on what has already happened.... i think you get the point...

WOW!!! 2 accidents already and you just started riding????/ Maybe you should slow down some and get a beginner bike. I have a friend with an R-6 anniversary edition, he might be willing to let it go for a song. I've seen pictures of him on it up at louden taking a corner; it's pretty sad. He corners like an ammature....Maybe you could make better use out of it's performance..

i never rode a bike before. i bought it having no clue how to ride. you dont turn 16 and knw how to drive a car ya gotta learn and all my buds had big new bikes so i wasnt learning on theirs. i went to buy an older bike but for the price im happy with mine. glad i didnt get the used r6 or a 1000 like i was loking at.
every bike forum i am on people are all the same way. 2 accidents dont ride wow you suck blah blah blah.
i bought it not knwing how to ride. i still dont know 100% no one ever will know 100%. i did good all summer had some instances that i learned from (cars cutting me off merging into my lane etc.... people have accidents. shit happens. once i get my hand back im fxinfg the clip on gluing the cracked fairings and getting right back on. ive had a lot of people say sell it get rd of it stop riding. fall off the horse get right back on, and thats what im gonna do.
i do want to take the saftey class and i will be doing a tonys track day next year to better myself.
my bike is already scratched and abused i have no interest in buying any other bike until a couple years down the road when i will get something newer for the street. since my bike is beat up already i might cage it and have fun next season.

true-
but that's why you take drivers ed before you get a license.

that's why people take the MSF course to learn how to ride a motorcycle. It's more valuable than you realize, would have saved you from a fractured wrist.
I see where you're comin from... but lemme ask ya a rhetorical question... did you take driving lessons in a beater or just jump in a brand new car & go? Guessing it wasn't the latter. The step you skipped, which you KNOW, was taking MSF before you bought a bike... but I AM glad to hear you're planning on signing up. I'd sign up now as the spring classes tend to fill up quickly... the longer you ride w/o proper training, the longer you have to solidify your bad habbits & make them harder to correct.
Everyone has accidents and yes, shit DOES happen, but you'll find that a LOT of members here have taken measures to make sure they continually educate themselves in a way that reduces that risk... I'm happy to see you're planning on doing the same.
