Hi all!
I just started riding this year (actually this fall!)...been wanting to learn how for a while, and was hanging out with some kids that ride over the summer which kicked my butt to actually get motivated to learn how.
Took the MSF course in September, and now have an SV650 to play with....still learning about everything, and working on getting out of the parking lot rides
Anyway - looking forward to it all!!
Welcome! Nice lil bike ya got too!
Welcome! Glad you took the MSF and are still practicing in the parking lots.. Don't rush, go at your own pace and you'll be fine.
Ok so the SV is probably a bit small, so you are going to grow out of it quick. meaning you WILL use all that power, also this thread is worthless without pictures of boobs. You should prolly take some time and learn how to wheelie in a safe environment like a highway. Gear is overrated, it takes away from the feel of riding. by this i mean that without flipflops, a tshirt, and shorts, you will not know exact wind speeds to counter balnace against and have improper foot control as you will not be able to properly curl your foot over a peg with anything more that a flip flop or other appropriate sandal...
you will definitely want to sell that SV and buy something more appropriate like a BUSA, and if in need just get a couple guys to lift it.
I am sure people will have other opinions about this next part but this is the truth. You cannot learn anything on a race track, so racing and trackdays are a waste of money. If you cant get your knee down on the street, then just go to the damn highway and crank out some high speed runs, and finally pulling over for law enforcement is unacceptable behavior. We have a rep to maintain and we cannot have you sully it by being responsible.
Please read everything i just wrote as a cautionary tale on what NOT to do and enjoy the site...
PS except for the boobs picture part, thats mandatory....

Yes in Massachusetts. 10% if I recall correctly?
And it's a 16 hour course (6 hours classroom, 10 hours riding). You can do it all in two days back-to-back or spread it out over three days.
