oh ok we have jokes... that's right I forgot that you vets all are snotty ass holes that you think anyone that gets a race bike is a jackass who is going to do something stupid.
So wait, you're new to Sportbikes? So you have no previous experience on them?
Please tell me you took the MSF course!!!!
Taking the course. I am slotted for the Lincon class end of may, I actually don't pick up my bike until next week.
Don't worry....I'm still a noob and I have a 600RR...and I'm still breathingOriginally posted by Jenks

Folks around here are just gonna be concerned that you get the right training, wear protective gear, and respect the power of that bike
Ride safe!
Like I said I am not an idiot, I will always wear my jacket, helmet and gloves, I value my life and my face ( it's a pretty one) haha just kidding, plus being in the navy if something did happen (god forbid) the navy wouldn't cover my medical if I didn't have my gear on and I am not a wheelie crazed teen ager either
I think most people on here would agree with me that a 2006 CBR 600 RR isnt a good choice for a first bike. Mainly because you have no experience so there's a possibility of you damaging the bike and hurting yourself.
If I were you, you should have gotten a used bike from like 1999-2003.
Older bikes are just as fun and are eaiser to learn on, and if you do damange it, it wont be that big of a deal since its old/used.
i live 5 mins from there... pm me i'll come ride wit ya....Originally posted by Jenks

Yes it is more likely to fall as an unexperienced rider I have rode motorcycles for years ( dirtbikes) I know street bikes are an whole nother world but I am a careful person who isn't going to jump on the bike and try to do 160 MPH I have respect for myself and by bike and it is possible for anyone to go down on thier bike new or experienced I understand and been living on forums for the last few months getting all the info I can I think as long as I respect the bike and the power it was I will be ok Im not going to try anything i am not comfortable with I think even twisties are out of the question for me for a while I just want to get some basic riding practice and go with some people that will teach me how to ride correctly if I wanted to be a jack ass I would go hang out with the idiots on thymes or in prov...

I understand no one likes newbies... their dangerous and most of the time are just trying to show off but there are some of us out there who are not like that I have wanted a street bike for years and now I have the ability. I know I am going to get alot of crap for getting the bike but I am in love with it and no one is going to make me regreat my decision, although I am sure I will cry if I do go down my friend bought a Gixxer and was being a jack ass squid and ate shit on a wheelie and went to the hospital I learn from peoples mistakes. I will never attempt a wheelie I just want to ride and feel the wind in my face but all you people (vets) out the who knock on newbie just remember you all were there at one point to

Jenks - you're cool. Don't listen to that whackjob. Ride what you want to ride, ride how you want to ride. Would you really take advice from someone who calls themself a "BadBoy"? God, I hope not. Stick with BigRed, he may be ugly but he's sweet as marmalade. Just watch your cornhole.
Support the Troops! (Except for Mondo, that guy's a dick)

I am just look for good people to ride with and maybe become friends with I have only been here for 8 months so I don't really know anyone, I don't want to ride alone I want to learn and I don't want to learn from idiots that will get me killed

- snotty ass hole
That's my whole point as well. I dont like hearing about fellow riders getting hurt.
So Since you admit you are a newbie I wanted to offer you the advise I got when I first started. Yes I understand everyone has different opinons.
Some people will tell you to ride whatever bike you what, and some people are going to tell you to start small and work you're way up. You need to be educated enough in this sport to make the "proper" decision for yourself.
Good luck man!
Can I meet up too? If Red and Jaynuss are going... I want to be there too.Originally posted by Jaynnus
