I was wondering when you were going to show up I tried inputting your name in to the referral sport when I joined, but I had the wrong user name Sorry about that. That other site has really change in the years I have been on there. It is way overpopulated with people that have no idea what they are talking about, lol. Thanks for the recommend btw. This place appears to be pretty cool

Welcome to the forum. I'm originally from your neck of the woods. (Chicopee) Some great riding roads out there. (north of Holyoke) I'm considering Penguin this year, so hope to see you up at the track.
This is my other sig (attached). I don't like the Honda one as much because it is blurry. The Duc sig was made while I was waiting to pick mine up. Then I started to read all the reviews on the Honda. This thing is amazing in every aspect, plus, I can go out to dinner and not worry about anyone touching it. I would have been crazy anal about the duc, the Honda I just can go out and enjoy. But, the Duc is so sweet. I may have to pick one up in the future when that damn money tree is in bloom, which never seems to happen, lol.

Ya, north of Holyoke gets pretty good, like 116 and 47 out through amherst. I just wish there were more of them. If you hit up Penguin let me know. There are a couple guys I know that are going to be up there. It should be a good time.

Here is a pic of the Duc I was picking up and the one that replaced it this year. I would have been so pissed to have purchase the 1098 only to have the 1198 come out shortly after. But, that is how Ducati works (916, 996, 998).

    Welcome.
Personally I like the look of the 1098S with the red frame and black Y wheels better than the 1198S.

    FYI: CBR1K>GSXR1K
I like this guy. Even though he picked a Honda over a Ducati

Yup, I like the red frame better but I like the motor a hell of a lot more on the 1198. From the reviews it sounds like an awesome machine. I almost called the dealership up and asked about a deal, with a trade in on my cbr, and then I went out and looked at the Honda. F that, this thing is too badass, lol. Plus, I have a stock of parts that I havn't even put on the damn thing yet, lol.

They def get their panties in a bunch over stuff like that. Thanks again for the heads up. I never would have been on here if you didn't. I actually rarely even go on there. I leave the site up as a tab, but it takes forever to weed through all the useless threads there.

    FYI:

If you're looking for someone to teach you the rules of racing so you can get your race license & compete, Penguin is where it's at.

If you're looking for something more oriented towards street riders with instruction on how to better your riding skills, a track day (like Tony's) will be more up your alley.

But if you're just looking for track time, either one will do.

I am doing the Two Day Street Performance school. I wanted to get more familiar with track days, and get some professional teaching, before doing a track day on my own. In all the years of playing sports I realized that it is much easier to learn the proper technique the first time around versus re-teaching. I hope that I will become a better all around rider after my penguin school experience. Information:

The Penguin 2 Day Pro/Street Schools

Be sure to get your reservations in early!

The 2 day school runs each day from 8:30A.M. to track closing time. Arrive at the track NO LATER than 7:30A.M. to get signed in & ready for the day

Education, fun & tons of track time... this is the ultimate learning experince!
Ducati Supersport Motorcycles & Full Riding Equipment Rental Available

    2 Options:

    Street/Performance or Intense Pro Training
2 courses will run simultaneously on these 2 days; an information-filled street rider course and an intensive pro level training course. Both courses will have an equal (large) amount of track time and a focus on individual attention. The street rider course will focus on a vast range of skill improvements usable in all types of riding. The pro course is for racers and focuses on one thing: how to get YOU to drop your lap times. Riders are separated by skill level to ensure that everyone is riding in a comfortable environment that is conducive to not only learning but also to the simple enjoyment of the racetrack.

    Street/Performance Participants - Day 1
Tuition for new students includes our school guidebook "Basic Road racing" by Jerry Wood, classroom instruction (discussing bike preparation, riding techniques, flags, rules and track survival) and most important plenty of riding time! Following the classroom you will be introduced to the racetrack while riding in small groups, each led by an expert instructor. The balance of the day will be rotating practice sessions where you can ride at your own pace and practice what you have learned. There will be instructors available at all times to help with any questions you may have. License certification class is included on Day 1. After successful completion you can then (at your option) purchase your license at the track and race the following weekend.

    Street/Performance Participants - Day 2
Day 2 of our street course course is available for riders who have at least completed our basic track day course. This day will focus on getting track time and improving your riding technique. Our morning track walk gets raves from past participants who tell us that they have never made more progress before! After the morning session, there is tons of track time. Our expert instructors will guide you around the track, emphasizing the points of the morning track walk. You will be observed and critiqued (at your option) in the afternoon to give each student riding tips that are specific to him or her. All students have the option all day to tap the resources of our experienced staff for 1 on 1 attention. Most of our advanced instructors are expert class champions and can help you with bike setup, starts, braking, cornering, race lines, and more. You gather enough information in these 2 days to keep you thinking for months.

    Pro School - Days 1 and 2
If you race or plan to race, this course is for you! We pack in 2 days of intense training that drops our average student's lap times by nearly 2 seconds. All levels - from new racer to pro will feel comfortable here. We cover anything and everything you need to know, and focus on individual attention and critique . Not only do you get the riding secrets of NHIS from the most experienced staff in the nation, but you get someone watching YOU, helping YOU to put it into use. If you have questions, we will get you the answer. We cover braking, cornering, body inputs, drives, slides, starts, bike setup, passing, race strategy and more.... You can't spend $500 anywhere on our bike that will drop your lap times like we can.

    Both Classes
New for 2006 the Penguin Racing School has a DVD video breakdown of the racetrack that we save for these special events. This video will be shown on both days and provides a great opportunity to really clarify your track strategy at NHIS. At the close of the presentation your instructor can bring you back in slow motion through any part of the racetrack that you need help with. This visual aide is a breakthrough for many riders with not only track strategy but riding mechanics as well...... don't miss out!

After the school I hope to do some of the track days through both tony's track days and boston moto.

Actually Noel, you do have some pretty fast bikes. Probably because they have a huge set of balls bouncing off the tank when you aren't looking

Alright Blake. Quit messing up this poor guy's intro thread. It's bad enough that his bike is slow and ugly. We need to make him feel welcome and not have him think we're all a bunch of assholes. That's Daytrader's job...

Sorry new guy. I'll just apologize for Blake, and his lust for base model Italian bikes, on behalf of NESRians everywhere.

I thought the point of intro threads were to mess them up as quickly as possible
I fully admit I'm an asshole, were have you been?

The "slow" one in my signature... Maybe I'll even let you stay close enough for you to get a good look at it.

I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of each at Boston Moto track days. Plus, you're close enough where we'll probably do some riding this season.

Lol, wow, I can't believe I didnt see that Are you going to get your frame checked out?

Ya, I am going to be pretty slow around the track. Never been on a track day. The first time ever will be at the Penguin Racing school. I hope I enjoy it, take it easy for a while, and learn a lot. I love this sport and I hope to get better at it.

You really are close though. I went on some pretty good rides down your way last year. One of them was to Devil's Hop Yard, which was pretty cool. I am always riding with people from CT. I used to go to the bike night in Manchester all the time before they closed it.
