'95 525i beater $500

Here's the deal...

1995 BMW 525i, Tan, 240k miles.

As it sits right now, it won't pass inspection without a bunch of work...
It's all cheap stuff if you can do it yourself, but I don't have the means/motive to do it.

It's got some rust but fires up and runs like a champ. Unfortunately one of the brackets for the belt tensioner for the water pump & power steering pump snapped soooo yeah... leave it on long enough & it's gonna overheat.

It needs:
Rear shocks
The belt tensioner bracket
Belt (think I still have a new one somewhere, ready to get put on)
Brake work (Comes with a box containing brand new front brake rotors & pads, as well as the ebrake shoes & springs)
E-brake
and the hinge for the gas cap door if you wanna put that back on.
A/C doesn't work... may just need a charge.

Interior is in awesome shape. All leather, heated seats, 6 disk cd changer.

Do the above work & it'll actually be in pretty good shape for a beater.

Here's a pic of it back in her hay day. Tinted windows, M5 bodykit (oem), M5 wheels (also oem, as far as I know).
Got a couple dings here & there, but not bad for a car with over 200k miles on it.

If I can get those rims off I was thinking of selling them them separately unless you want to strike a deal... they're the rare M5 Throwing Stars wrapped with General Exclaim UHP's with very good tread. Realistically, they're probably worth a couple hundred each, maybe more if I find the right buyer.

I'm not gonna more than friggin double the price of the car if you want em though, we can talk about it.

If you don't want em, they'll be coming with the stock basket weave rims with snows.

On the M5 wheels, General Exclaim UHP.

Awesome summer tire and GREAT value.... and it actually didn't do too bad in the snow, either... I didn't even bother putting my winter wheels on last winter.

The spare rims have snow tires on them. Dunno how much life is left.

when you say it needs brakes? are the pistons rubbing the rotors? does it stop the car or not even?

The front brakes work well, but there's a vibration/shimmy when you apply the brakes. Thus why I bought new rotors & pads.

The rear calipers I think are proably frozen up as the rotors look pretty pitted and unused.

MM crap.. thought General Exclaim was a general name.. can't do high performance summers... wife blew up a tire, so I'm looking at options. seems that the one michelin tire is out of production, and the equivalent one for a 16" tire is $174!!! might as well buy 4 new ones instead of one at that price..

Well, like I said, I left the Exclaims on all winter last year & the year before and it did unbelievably well in the snow considering they're summer tires.

I even came up behind an SUV that got stuck on a hill... I thought I was gonna join em when I had to stop behind them.... but the thing actually crawled up the hill once I had time to go around.
