Yes they will work well for you and being "shaped" skis they'll help you turn easier.

There is no reason to have skis that large anymore, unless you're on old technology (straight skis) skis are so much wider now that you can run much shorter skis. I'm 6-2 240 on 171s up from 169s and with twin tip skis they are actually shorter than that since you lose contact at the rear due to the tip.

Back in the day (talking late 80's early 90's) I could "Helicopter", Backscratcher, Daffy, Twister, Iron Cross, Kosak and Spread Eagle. Nothing inverted (that shit wasn't invented yet) and I loved the moguls. I had 190 Ohlins Mogul skis because all the "cool guys" had long skis.

The last time I went skiing I still had a set of 190 K2's (Old School straight skis) EVERYONE else had little short twin tip skis, I was like

I borrowed my friends 170's and was amazed at how easier everything was. I gotta get some shorter skis now.

Shorter skis turn faster and the shaped sides help immensely. Longer skis were faster because there was more material on the snow, but skis were skinnier. Shorten them up and make them wider and it essentially puts the same material on the snow as an older style ski, but it doesn't handle like truck. "rocker" designs are making their way into all mountain skis.
