    for the girl i assume?
its not always about short. my bike is taller than amandas but she can stand flat foot on mine because its skinnier.

i would stick with what you know. EX500 you can get cheap.250 even cheaper. you know SVs are gonna cost ya as well as ninja 650s.
why are you even asking? you know these answers.

Ryan, what do you have in the 600 CC range, something full fairing up to 3/4000, clean title...it's also for a girl.

Pete, my 929 was a great starter bike for me, how's $5000 sound?

She's actually looking at small standards more than she is at sportbikes. Older CB's and such. She's going to look at a 1980 CM400E later this week but I'd rather her get something newer than that. I think an EX250 or EX500 is about as sporty as it'll get for her right now.

    03 ex 250

Mainly just the blinkers and the left foot peg. There is a crack in the upper fairing that isn't that bad, give me your e-mail address and i will send over the pictures. Ryan

Yeah, from the pics on your site, the fairing didn't look bad.

If all it needs is the footpeg/shifter assembly & blinkers to make it ridable AND get a clear title we might be up for that depending on what her money situation looks like.

But if I gotta buy fairings as well to get the title cleared... well... that makes things alot more complicated. I gotta learn more about what "SALVAGE REPAIRABLE TITLE" in NH means, how we can convert it to a clean MA title etc. If you can shed some light on the process, that'd be cool.

Unfortunately, even w/ the NESR price, the bike is stretching the upper limit of her budget.

When I did a salvage repair inspection on an ex250, they wanted to see all damaged parts replaced with recipts, and if it were a used part, the VIN of the vehicle it came off of. It's a process, no doubt about it.

Yeah, I was gonna say I did some more research & found that out... the fairings would have to be replaced... I think the salvage title is gonna be a deal breaker but we may come up & look at it anyway.

Getting it ridable is easy enough.... but clean title? not gonna happen.

Why would the salvage title be a deal breaker for you Pete? You know you can get it running well, and it's still a 250 for $1g...even with a salvage (especially one that looks good) you can still get your money back on it if/when she decides to sell it.

    Just curious...

because it needs to be rebuilt. He would need to replace/repair everything on the insurance form, including the fairings. Which will be a couple hundred for everything then $50 to inspect it...not to mention the time and effort running around getting this stuff done...

    Gotcha...

A little different than my understanding of PA (where all my vehicles are). As long as it passes inspection, the non essentials (fairing scratches, etc) don't have to be fixed.
