Got out on the ice for the first time this past Sunday. What a riot that shit is. I'm absolutely terrible but at least it doesn't hurt falling! Can't wait to get back out this weekend. Ice was the titas!

True that! We've lived on the lake for 11 years now and I can't believe this is the first year I've done this. I was always of the thought that I had quads, so why bother? That changed pretty fuggin' quickly once I studded up the Rappy and started maintaining that track! There's actually something I enjoy about winter now and actually look forward to freezing temps...

Have you run other tires or just these?

I have a set of tires with a similar tread pattern that I was thinking of running on the pit bike if I can't get the nobbies to work better. On glare ice I would think they would be good but if there is any snow on the ice they might slide pretty good.

Great weekend again I've got a lot of pictures, and I know some are pretty awesome. I need some time to unpack, settle in and get my house back up to a normal temp and i'll try and get some pics up.

lessons learned the hard way

don't use a soft compound tire as the knobs will tear off .

don't re screw last years tire because the screws will back out more easily.

don;t try to start a fire with cord wood and gasoline

don;t assume that you get traction walking on the ice wearing MX boots

don't assume that you can ride all day, dehydrate youself, drink til midnight and not be sore the next morning.

Water bottles freeze solid in your truck when its in the single digits over night , crack open and fill your cup holder with water when they thaw .

sweaty helmets are no fun to put back on when they are frozen

chili is always a good idea the night before , but many would argue that the next morning.

farts that come up the front are just as funny as the ones that come out the back .

a vag made out of bacon is both awesome and tasty.

Oh, forgot to mention a VERY close call with Todd and I on that small oval at the other end of the lake today. A couple laps into it, I spun out on the exit of one of the corners. I knew Todd was close behind, but also knew if I let off the throttle, I was going to flip over. Todd was in full lean and there was eye contact as I was spinning out heading in his direction. How we didn't hit, I have no idea...I swear there was no room for even air between my front tire and his rear tire, it was that close. Biggest pucker moment of the weekend for sure.

What a great fuggin' weekend! Way too much went on to even attempt a recap, but Sean hit it pretty good. Holy shit, was that fun!

That was by far the most *I've* been able to ride the track so far. Usually I'm running back to get the plow or take the kids for a putt or letting someone use the Rappy. It was nice to just ride for the day for a change...

Saturday night was just too much though, huh? My ribs are hurting today from all the laughing. Thanks to everyone that made the trip up and brought up and cooked up all that grub. That was fookin' sweet!

I still don't know how Jim managed to convince himself that he'd be better off driving home than hanging out for the night with us! Bummer you hadta split too Jay, we all thought you had the dog thing taken care of...

Hopefully we'll get in a coupla more weekends before the thaw!

Yeah...we may hafta give some of my neighbors a weekend 'off'. While most everyone around there seems to get a kick outta it, I think this past weekend's turnout may have gotten under some's skin. I heard a coupla rumblings through the grapevine yesterday. The colony has it's monthly meeting tomorrow, I'll probably go to that and see if anyone says anything. A shitload of people turned out Saturday, about half just to fuck around & spectate, but there was a lot of us riding - pretty much all day too...

Fun as shit, but I don't wanna go over the edge either and piss 'em off to the point that they try to put an end to it. At least not with some good weekends left!

I feel the same way, can't really recap it with words, I'd be typing for hours Such an awesome time, riding, eating, drinking, ball busting...just an all around great time with great people!
