Big Shirl this morning: '...you should take a pic looking down the cove and post that we're almost ready fuckers!'
With the temps this week, it should go without saying that the ice is looking better & better each day. Our cove LOOKS pretty solid now, ice graying nicely and playing music all night. Been taking my time with the new tires/ice screws, but I'ma gonna hafta pick up the tempo and get that shit done. Gonna pick up a freshy-new battery for the 'Cat too & get 'er good to go for track cleaning...
Maybe I'll snap some pics this weekend, maybe not...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Lets hope this late weekend storm passes by

I bought some 1/2" screws to fit an 80/100-21" front tire, which can fit either the XR200 or my RM125 (if I can get it going again)
fyi, performance cycles in shrewsbury, ma has a handful of 17", 18", or 19" street tires that would work as liners
I was working on Mendums Pond in Barrington today, ice is about 1½" think, I could walk on it carefully, but it cracked quite a bit if I got stomping around
I don't see any meaningfull snow in forcast for lakes region NH in the near future, it will be nice if we can get solid ice before the snow insulates it

Our cove is at least 6" thick. My drill bit wasn't long enough to get all the way through...

250 or 450
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Sleds are out doing speed runs today and a few quads were down my way doing donuts while we were out. Rappy's at the stealership until the beginning of the week - just havin' 'em take care of a few minor things before the YES warranty runs out. Finishin' up my tires this weekend and we'll be good to go. As long as we don't get a shit ton of snow this weekend, mappin' out a track'll be easier 'n shit...![]()

ok wtf are you doing to make this go quickly??
I haven't even finished the front tire and already I can tell that I'm not doing this as fast as most of you guys are
damn...you guys speed through it!
it's been 40 mins and I've only gotten through the middle treads. But practice is definitely helping...it's all about getting that initial grab so you can speed up the drill and seat it. Correctly lining up the screw and gently pushing it helps make that happen...
having the tire sit on a few pieces of cardboard also allows me to spin the tire where I'm seated, letting the tire grab the cardboard and drag it along the ground
back to work!
