So on Sunday I finally made it to the last WSP race which was on their motocross track. Can't believe I didn't ride one of these all year til now but I finally got one in. I have only ridden once in the last several weeks and this was my first Am. race so I only signed up for 30+B rather than doing 2 races like usual. One of my life goals is checked off as I lined up on same gate as John Dowd! haaha Anyway here is my report, going in I was really hoping for a top 5 but realistically top 10.
Moto 1: Since this is my first Am. race I got very last gate pick and I was lined up way inside, even inside the barrels for the first turn! So needless to say I got a horrible start and was approx. 12th out of 18 around the first turn. So much moisture in the ground made practice/first motos a mud fest/rut fest so in the first lap I had to pull 4-5 tearoffs already, annoying! Anyway I usually do pretty decent in the mud and started picking people off one by one. By the end I crossed the finish right on someones tail and it turns out that was 2nd place and I ended up 3rd. I was pumped.
Moto 2: Things dried out pretty good and got alot bumpier. This time I had 3rd gate pick and started right in the center of the gate. Got a decent jump and after the long sweeping right hander of a first turn, I was in 2nd I think. Sometime into this lap I clicked into neutral by accident and lost bunch of positions and also rode like a tard. Ended up losing a few spots and gaining one back for a 5th.
I ended 3/5 moto scores on the day for 4th overall so I was happy with it for my first race in the class, also figuring I wouldn't do as well on the mx track as the sx track.
I will prob. upload a helmet cam vid of the 2nd moto when I get it off my camera (wish I took the first moto but the camera would have had gobs of mud on it). There is a table top in the back section you can launch past and land on a single making it a long double and I have a sweet panic rev over that in my vid haha. Was 3rd gear wide open, even seat bounced the take off...shoulda been in 4th I guess.

Nice! Ill have to make my way out to a MX track and have you show me a thing or two or ten. Now that My dog has passed his beginner class I have a little more free time. I think in exchange youll have to come out to the woods where I can actually ride at a decent pace![]()
Thanks Paul, and James that sounds good...definitely like riding the woods once in awhile but I just don't have the registration stuff.
Richie I love you, come home![]()

Reg is easy to get. However you can probably get away with it at this point in the season. Ive been out there a ton since it right down the street and Ive only see DCR once and that was opening day. Ill have to check downstairs but I think I still have a valid plate from my YZ that is gone. Wont take long to toss it on.
nice werk! and congrats on the yellow plates![]()

Congrąts Seth; the AM class down there is no joke. That is a really sweet mx track. Glad to hear you finally put yellow plates on that thing.
