http://www.weather.com/weather/local...om=search_city

i've never been on a track in the rain before. is the decrease in traction really that noticeable?
and what do you guys use for rain gear? is there stuff that goes over leathers or something?

How can I put this?
The track will be as slick as a greased slimy thing covered in oil.
....and you have now ruined it for everyone by mentioning the "R" word. Way to go!![]()
I noticed this as well......... not a good way to go for a first track dayVery bummed...
We are making extra chili and also beef stew.
Also, the coffee pot will be hammering away for sure!
Dress warm, people!![]()
Putting his hands in the air, like he just doesn't care.

Turn 2 is the biggest worry in the rain. Extremely slick.
If a spot at the trackday opens up someone PLEASE let me know. I'm itching.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

i remember last time we got lucky. i remember it was pouring like crazy in the AM and it cleared up all day till everyone started loading there bikes back up. hopefully it will do that if it rains again
Even if it's dry, I want to remind everyone that this will NOT be the sticky track you rode on this summer. at 50-60 degrees, the track retains no heat.
You can still go pretty good, but your tires will not be as forgiving of your small (or big) mistakes.
I have 2 broken hands right now. I hope it helps you to remember: RIDE SMOOTH ON COLD TRACK
Throttle control will be important as well as a single decisive steering input. Mid corner corrections are nothing on a hot track, but might prove dangerous on cool track.
Thanks for the heads up. I am sure everyone knows that a cooler track is going to give less grip, but it doesn't hurt to reiterateOriginally posted by Paul_E_D

My concern is that my bike runs quite a bit stronger in cooler weather than in warmer. So not only is it going to have less grip, but its going to pull harder too![]()
I encourage everyone to bring portable space heaters.
When you come off the track, sit in front of it and get your hands and body temp back to normal.
If you start each and every session a little colder, you'll be miserable. This way, you start each session fully warm.
I'll be using my bikes heat as my portable space heater!!!

Congregate in the main area of the Red Roof... and then head out to watch the game / debate / eat dinner.
I know the game starts at 8 but most people probably won't be there by then.
I would imagine people going to Makris as well as Applebees.?
Sounds good Tony!
