    consecutive track days

Just got my tax crap back, from a tax standpoint anyway. I will be doing my first TD in July and was wondering how much the second day could offer. Take out of the equation a specific track or how much $$. Does doing a first TD on Monday following with another on Tuesday make that big a difference in enjoyment or learning curve?

    Re: consecutive track days

day 1 - deal with information overload and begin to learn some stuff
day 2 - learn more stuff & apply everything you learned from day 1

I'd say two days back to back teaches you just as much, if not MORE than three days spaced out over the year. If you have the means to do two days in a row, DO IT!

    Re: consecutive track days

    Yes.

Do one trackday, you'll drive home thinking "I should've done this in that turn, it all makes sense now!" Doing two days in a row allows you to put into place all the things that you hear, and learn, but may take a couple hours before they completely click.

That doesn't even take into account the fun of hanging out at the track between days, bench racing and BSing about bikes.

    Re: consecutive track days

    Worth it.

If you take what you learn from Day 1 and apply it to Day 2...well, you'll still have a hell of a time either way but Day 2 will make much more sense......that and you'll be fully rested and able to process and acheive your goals much more efficiently, IMO.

    Re: consecutive track days

I would have to agree that the two days will get you the most bang for your buck.

The first day will be a sensory overload. Knowing that you have the next day may infact keep you a little more calm and attentive knowing that you don't have to fit evrything into one day.

Take the first day easy, learn the ropes and the track, and take the classroom time seriously, and you will have a great time. It's about having fun!!!!

Like Kurtz said hanging out the first night is a blast, we usually show whatever race was just on, eat popcorn and after hangout and shoot the crap about bikes and stuff.

Looking forward to meeting you un July caome and say

    Re: consecutive track days

I agree with what everyone has said. 2 days in a row is great. Even for me, being very used to the track, I find 2 days in a row to more beneficial as I have a lot of track time to try different things and find what works best. DO IT!!

    Re: consecutive track days

My very first experience on the track was a 2 day event.

Like others said. Day 1 starts off as a bit of an overload. It's not that it isn't enjoyable. It's an incredible experience. But there's a lot to take in. 1 or 2 sessions after lunch, you start to get into the flow. You get comfortable with the schedule so you're not rushing to get out on track. You start to get familiar with the track. You get into the groove and you're REALLY enjoying yourself...

...and then the day is over. And all you want from this world is to go back out on that race track...

If you have the opportunity, do two days. No question about it.

    Re: consecutive track days

I was fortunate enough to do a 2 day Tony's event this past fall. It was my first time at the track and like everyone says, doing both days is well worth it. You get more time with the instructors and more time on the track. The track walk is awesome, and putting that knowledge to use the next day is even better. Plus you will met some very cool and helpful people.

    You will have more fun

    You will learn more

    Do 2 days.

Don't do it! If the first day doesn't get you addicted to the track, the second day will!!! Look at all those positive response from track addicts that just want to suck you into their world!

I'm planning on doing a 3-day thing in July. TTD 7/20-21 and BMTD 7/22. I loved the 2 days and was tired Let's how blasted I can get after 3 days on the track.

This from the guy that brings two bikes to a track day as well as purchasing one of the coolest toy-haulers I've ever seen.

Roland...you da man! Looking forward to riding with you when you return from your oceanic adventures!

Ok Kim, if you put it that way I might be considered addicted... of course it takes one track addict to know one!

Definitely looking forward to being back on the track. Everytime I see the list of NJMP attendees grow, I have to go rewatch the "Penguins of the Antarctic" nature show I've got recorded to remind me that a trip to Antarctica is good reason to miss two months of the track season!

Back on topic, I'll revise my advice and agree that two days in a row is a good idea and three is even better!

I second that. (except that I don't race) Annalisa & I went up for the races on Sunday in Sept and then I did the 2 day TTD right after as a first-timer.

    It was sick!
