im interested. Was going to go with a gopro but ill do some research and see if the contour is better for my application (would use it mostly for DH mountainbiking but also trackdays and snowboarding).

Yes, there will always be the argument about GoPro versus Contour and the video quality is similar with both. We believe the build quality of the Contour to be way way higher than the GoPro and it's flashable memory gives you true firmware update capability. 32GB maximum card size and a much smaller data rate for storage. Boston Moto can get you any accessories you need for these cameras such as replacement lenses, suction mounts etc.

Watching the videos on their website, I'm still skeptical. The surf video looks like shit compared to the gopro.

The problem with viewing stuff online is that there are many variables that you can't account for.

1. The Contour surf video is edited with special effects like frame skip, speed changes, fades etc. That certainly isn't raw video.

2. The Contour is capable of some adjustments (aperture size is one I believe) but most people dont touch them. This vid could have some changes to camera setup.

3. Both Contour and GoPro will record in 30fps in 1080p and 60fps in 720p. that makes a difference in sports videos.

4. Who knows what kind of file size reduction was used in uploads (again, not neccessarily raw video on each site).

There are probably back to back reviews online for folks to do their own research. Check the reviews online for yourselves.

We changed it from $50 to $60 instead of doing the 8GB card thing but we could throw in an 8GB card if you prefer that.

...and yes, they changed the mount that comes with the camera. you are right that they now come with a flat mount and a goggle mount (even better!)

For those that bought this camera, the windshield mount is a MUST Got mine today and it sticks to pretty much anything. I took a chance hoping it would stick to the tank on my R1 when I bought it and that's not an issue. Also sticks to the fenders of the dirtbike, helmet visor, even the helmet.

The mount also separates from the suction cup which leaves the door open for several creative mounting possitions.
