    Re: Down Goes Mondo

Considering I was on my binders early comin over the hill, the R6 had no chance. Catastrophic failure, nobody at fault unless its some little man that makes whatever part failed on the front brakes. you cant see the tire smoke that came from the rear tire just before he threw her down. Just glad everyone came out as well as they did. I had to fight the temptation to toss my bike down after 6 and run back.

Yes, it always sucks when someone crashes at the track, it sucks 100x more when you're taken out by another rider... im not sure how much more it sucks when its a control rider that takes you out! Im sure BM doesnt need anymore negative publicity but that just blows.

And did anyone chime in as to what the problem was with the CR bike? Looking at the video and not playing to much CSI it just seems he tucked the front end...

    Re: Down Goes Mondo

btw it doesnt matter who took me out, it happend, no big deal, its a trackday shit happens. Coulda happend to me on the street, or on the track. Regardless ever one signs up for the track day knowing there is that possibility within this sport. Pointing fingers and blaming people isn't going to fix my bike or my ankle, having a positive attitude and moving forward will.

And Boston Moto runs a great trackay, and all their instructors and control riders are top notch

    anywho.....
I just ordered the battery tray (50$ shipped), and hopefully the swingarm (80$ shipped) by the end of the day! I added up the price to replace the broken parts of my woodcraft rearsets andfor the Shift linkage, shift shaft, and pedal its only $71. Found a oem fairing stay for 75$ on ebay, and clutch cover for 80$, and a new engine case cover from woodcraft for 180$

so for about 535$ I can have the bike fully operational again. But I guess when I'm ripping it apart I might do chain and sprocket and a new ohlins shock if I can find a good deal on one on ebay.

    Re: Down Goes Mondo

That video is crazy....like someone said before, it looked so slow until the bike actually hit him

OT: Nick, moving the camera up helped a ton compared to our test, no more windshield distortion....

I'm glad you're ok Mondo...after seeing that video and looking at the pictures TJ showed me, I'm surprised and happy that all you've ended up with is a busted ankle! Feel better ASAP!

Target fixation?! That was a perfect takedown. There was lots of empty track...

Not to blame anyone. Brake failures are extremely tough to handle.

Hey bud glad you'll pull through and your attitude is good. Believe me Thierry feels like shit about the whole thing physically and mentally. Your both great guys and it was an unfortunate accident. You both will be ready to roll soon and this will be behind both of you.
You should have came to Hooters last night...you would have gotten allot of "sympathy" from the waitresses!...
