im looking at a 5x8 trailer to tow my drag bike.... any words of wizdom picking one out? pulling it with a trailblazer... I really dont want to buy a big one due to storage in my driveway etc....
Thanks for the help.
How much money do you have?
Those aluminum jobbies with the drop gate rear are pretty nice.
That said, steel works and ramps are easy to build or buy.
The only thing I would avoid are those cheapo HF trailers with the mini 8" tires. But that's me.
Yeah make sure you get one with a ramp door. One less thing to worry about.
Also keep your eyes open for one that is already set up for bikes. Saves you a little money setting it up. Also lighting and outlets are a plus if you plan on sleeping in it.

Ramp Door and a side door and if possible a Roof Vent. Run some light in side with plugs ect....makes a nice home at the track.
Buy this one.....good deal http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...d-trailer.html

Enclosed or open trailer?
enclosed....now here comes the tricky part...I need to to be a tad under 7 feet overall height so I can fit it in my gargae.... this is a bit tricky...not sure who makes one this height. they all seem to be about 7 foot 6 inches high..... my door is 7 feet high...
Haulmark makes a 'low hauler' motorcycle trailer that would definitely fit in the garage. http://www.haulmark.com/low-hauler_motorcycle-trailer/
7'6" exterior is usually the height when the interior is 6'6", which is usually the extra height option (I do highly recommend this, but I understand the real world constraint).
Standard 6' interior should give you an exterior height of about 7' overall depending on the manufacturer. If it's close, you can let air out of the tires to get it under the door
I did find that one...kinda pricey! Looking at some others.... wonder if anyone local builds them?

I noticed this trailer today. Might be the pricey one you were referring to. They are real nice trailers and this one has an exterior overall height of 6'10". These Thule/Cargo Pro trailers hold there value well.

I did see that one! Thanks for looking... where did you find that height? the trialers ive found so far that fit into a garage are
cargo pro 5x8 but you will need to remove the top roof vent as its tall....
carry-on popular around here... the 5x10 fits if you get the 13 inch aluminum wheels it buys you antoher 1.5 inch roughly. The quality on this trailer is marginal from what I have seen. $2800 for that setup. so most garages are 7.0 feet on the nose... these trailers are like 6 foot 10 inches....im sure with a little weight on it ....it will sag a bit more. Tough choice...
This is where you can get specs on the current CargoPro trailers. For the most part the specs are going to be exactly he same as the older CargoPro/Thule.

might buy yourself a bit of room by just deflating the tires to back it in. will only take 2 minutes to pump them back up when leaving as well.
just thinking outside the box

bought the 5x8 cargo pro, all aluminum v nose etc....even used the quality is so much nicer than the "new" carry-on brand....
thanks everyone for the help!
