That is tw worst deal I have ever seen on a 600. You are paying twice what you should. That dealer is clearing $7k Profit on that sale.
looks like a great deal for the dealer.

they need more guys like him.

i cant even imagine paying 6k for a honda let alone 14.

for a few more dollars he could had got a duck or a bmw
Yep. BMW S1000RR for the same money.

I can't back out, if I do I will lose that 3,000 from the secondary insurance and without that I only had 4,900 down.

Do people generally not buy the extended warranty? I can't imagine nothing could go wrong with these machines.

LOL, sounds like Degs will be working you a deal at a Honda dealer (Bettencourts?) this afternoon.

The dealership is Cycles128 in Beverly Mass.

I am tempted to tell them to remove everything other than LoJack.

figure out how i can transfer the 3k from security guard and I will make the switch today but it's not possible and without the 3k I cannot get on a bike like this as 4900 down on a 11,100 bike.

I guess it's a deal the dealership has with Security Guard, the check goes to the dealer to go towards a new bike.

I mean the check is in my name so I still have to sign it over to them, but it does not get mailed to me at all. Just a way for the dealer to lock you in to buying the next bike from them.

Not to mention the dealer is trying to tell me i might not get my bike for another 2 weeks as the security guard company might not pay out until 30 days after the theft which means another 2 weeks. If they try that I will tell them to cancel the deal.

Get these "security guard" people on the phone. You should be able to take your money wherever you want.

I will try that tonight, but I tried to get them to send me the entire 3k to me and they refused to do so the other day.

But why are you locked into Cycles128?? What if you wanted to buy a Aprilia from Seacoast?? It should go to whatever dealer you want.

I'm not sure, its something Cycles128 has agreed upon with Security Guard

Even without that $3k, you're still paying almost $12k for that 600. There are many other dealers that will put you on a brand new CBR600 for well under $10k. As it is, over the life of your loan, you're probably going to end up paying near $16k for this bike...and it'll be worth less than half of that the second you drive it off that lot next week. It almost sounds like you were rushed (or forced) into this deal...if you still can, you really need to back out, and take a minute to ask a few serious questions to some of the more knowledgeable members here. That $3k 'theft insurance' check you're talking about should've been an important lesson right off the bat...if it locks you into a specific dealer, its essentially a scam.

That was not known until the other day when I started to look for bikes.

Keep in mind the 14k mark also includes about 1,100 for the LoJack and Install.

They might threaten you with losing the $3,000, but I bet the dealership would rather have 10 grand than 3 grand. Remove all the crap and tell them how much YOU are going to pay or your taking your money to another dealership. The last thing they want is this forum post calling their bullshit and taking advantage of another local rider.

    That's just bad business.

    Re: 2008 vs 2011 CBR 600RR

i sleep in and miss the good stuff.

i agree with what everyone said. you don't need the extended warranty. i've owned 2 new bikes, and neither has needed any work done that i couldn't easily do myself. tire replacement...sounds good at first, but i'd bet that doesn't cover some of the fees with that new tire they'll be giving you. unless you have horrible luck, your rims should be fine for the life of the bike. personally, i don't think it's worth $450. you'd have to eat up 4 rear tires for that to be worth it, and like i said, you're probably still paying for a few extra fees (mount, balance, etc). also, check if it's a pro-rated discount based on tread life. ie, do they give you a discount based on the percentage of tread left? i'd bet there is something like that to prevent people from sticking a nail in their tire every time it's just about shot.

prepaid maintenance also seems really pricey. stick around, make some friends, and learn to wrench on the bike yourself. there is nothing in the routine maintenance (on a Japanese bike, at least) that you can't do yourself with a few basic tools. last time i checked (about 9 years ago), the dealers charge $100+ for an oil change. cost to do it yourself? $25-35 depending on the oil.

and $400 combined for the 'document' and 'plate' fee? that's way overpriced. it's fine to use the dealer to save some RMV hassle, and i can see paying an extra $25 or even $50, but that's ridiculous.

and i agree: how are 'freight' and 'delivery' different? even if they claim most of the 2nd fee is for 'prep', $400 is overkill. most of the time, you can get out of that altogether. if they claim they spent time and money putting it together, tell them to leave it crated and you'll do it yourself. i always like that one.

ETA: i know about that sinking feeling in your stomach when you realized you've been taken advantage of, and that the deal you think you got isn't a good one. just keep in mind that most people here are trying to help you, and i don't it's too late to save yourself a ton of cash at this point.

I'll run this by some friends in the business today and I bet I can get you into the same bike with the lojack for less. Maybe even the abs.

    Re: 2008 vs 2011 CBR 600RR

but again I have to find out if I can get Security Guard to issue me the check and not send it to the dealer because the dealer will hold that over my head.

regardless if you guys are saying this is the worst deal please do advise me of a dealer in which I will get taken care of properly for future purchases.
