I’m genuinely more excited about the new wing. And that is saddening on more than a few levels.

Interesting that it's a 90 degree V4, while Aprilia/Rotax is 65 degrees. I understand 90 V4s tend to be more balanced, but Ducati seems to be using a counter balancer anyway and Aprilia's V4 is creamy smooth anyway. 90 degree V4s are also bigger footprint so more difficult to package? Didn't the mighty Desmo get some criticism for its 90 degree V4?
Also, I realize it's only a short press clip, but that motor does NOT sound like the Aprilia V4. It sounds very similar to me like the old superquadro v-twins.

cycletrader has a dealership in CA selling one of the only-1000-produced especiále versions for $40k.
expect something like $20k for the non-S and $25k for the S?
eta: automatic yaw control for managed power sliding? some lawyers are gonna save some collar bones.

this could be the most moto gp derived bike with a license plate, and at a normal price, not like the Honda rcv street bike.

Ducati Desmosedici RR - Wikipedia These weren't that expensive.
Didn't the RR retail for like 75k and people were paying over that? There was one at the IMOC show a while back. It had a glow about it...

I already feel bad for the first year... or first 2-3 year buyers of this train wreck... tho I’m guessing most enthusiasts won’t be fond of the ducks swaying away from the v twin

I was at the IMOC a couple years ago admiring a Desmosedici. At the end of the day the owner started it and it started spewing oil. Good thing he brought it there in a van and didn't have to ride it home.
Of course emotion makes me say I would like to get that V4 Pani, as its got to be the coolest mechanical thing for approx. $20K.

First year comparison to the Panigale probably not the best. That was a clean sheet new engine and chassis for them, pushing the limits of what's possible with a big bore v-twin. This thing has an engine that is more or less a de-tuned version of the engine they've been developing for over a decade now, utilizes some "chassis" lessons learned from the Pani and is really integrating a technology suite that is becoming ever more commonplace across brands. Something also tells me they're keen to have this bike out of the gate work well, since it's such a risk for them departing from the V-twin anyway.
Maybe I have more faith than I should, but this is anything but a "clean sheet" design and the concepts employed have been in development for quite some time now.
That all said, like the RSV4, this is a race bike with lights and will likely not get on well with stop and go traffic.
