So cold.
Went out for a few hours and almost lowsided....not fun when confidence is high and traction is low.....made it through just fine though!

Your a nut!
My lowest temp was Low 30's and it was just on the way home one night from work or something. I don't think I would ever choose to go out riding on a day like today. The sand left on the roads is scary enough let alone the possibility of ice.

Sand was the least of my concerns....it was my tires that gave me the piss shivers.
NOTE TO ALL: Tires do not warm up ever if it's 23 outside. Maybe the middle some but the sides....no way!
I've been out in 25 before when all I had to commute on was my bike...but no pics, so I don't expect anyone to believe me
I didn't trust the tires to warm up all the way either
the XR80 otoh...gets more saddle time the colder it gets...

nice bike, the coldest i have ever ridden was about 30 miles to storage earlier this year when it was 11 degrees out... damn the highway part of my ride sucked since i have no heated gear....
You know that Randy's riding. Snow is just a minor inconvenience.![]()

Yeah, I'm sure Randy will be calling us pussies just for posting in this thread. He's not right
I think the VFR that was with us said it was 30 degrees on top of Hog Back last spring. All I know is that it was the first time a sign that says: "Danger, bridge freezes first" had any meaning to me on my motorcycle.

I rode home from Rye NH in the mid-low 30s. Perforated leathers with as many layers as I could stuff underneath. I don't think I've ever been so cold. My hands were so cold by the time I got to my offramp that blipping the throttle for the downshifts was extremely hard to feel.
Once I get a heated vest and some colder weather gear I may go out more in the 30s. Below freezing I think I'll be taking a car, the risk of ice just isn't worth it.

That's right, back to a 2 cylinder, 3 cylinder, and a 4 cylinder.
I rode out of Jackson Hole in early October a few years back, it was in the low 20's that morning. I was all bundled up and I pulled over twice to take off my gloves and hold them over the exhaust tip. Later that day I got to Denver, the display on the bank said 93 degrees. I've never gone from being so cold to so hot in one day.

I use to ride when it was in the 20's and 30's electric gloves, pants vest but my neck would still get cold. The ducati did not like the cold temp. the carbs would freeze up just when I got onto the highway....Almost go killed one day. Called ducati and they said "never heard of that before" Two seconds later there was a "float bowl" heating kit at my door as a retro fit. LOL Hmmmm Im guessing i was not the only one with this issue....
coldest ive ever done was in NC. Around 25 in the AM. Didnt have to worry about salt or sand, they never treated the roads because by noon it was 50
I was out for a short ride last Saturday after digging it out of the trailer to have forks tuned. What was it 20 degrees?
Hey Berg, thats 111 in Windham a mile or 2 from me, are we neighbors?
