Anyone riding with one of these?
Thoughts? Opinions?
In the market for a new helmet. Been wearing a exo-1000.
Nope, but for that money you could score a shoei. just sayin
I wanna keep it in the $350 or less range. Shoei is just slightly out of reach for me at the moment.
Ebay and patience...scored a mint $800/list Arai for $350...also just saying...
Going to pull the trigger on a matte black RS-1 tonight. Looking for any last reviews/opinions/etc.
Can get it for $350 shipped from motorcyclesuperstore, plus a tinted visor for $40.
This is my max $$ for a helmet at this point, was looking at the rf-1000 but that is another $50 and I just cant spend it.
You can get a Shoie Qwest in solid colors for under 330$. Best helmet I've worn out of an RSR2 and EXO 1000
The guy asked for opinions or reviews of a Bell not to be badgered into buying a Shoei.
I have not had a Bell since back in the day...but I have heard from many that they love them (don't know the models)
http://www.thebellstore.com/Helmets/rs1.html try these guys out also.
I know you said you didn't want a used helmet but it got worn literally 4 or 5 times for about 20 minutes each on my commute.
It's an unbelievable helmet.

2006 Yamaha R1, Graves Full Exhaust, BST Carbon Fiber Wheels, K&N Air Filter, EGR Blockoffs, Factory Pro Velocity Stacks, Power Commander 5, Stealth 520 Conversion -1/+1, FP levers, Ohlins shock, Ohlins fg327 forks, Ohlins steering damper, Sato racing rearsets, Goodridge SS shadow brakelines, EBC Extreme pads, Braking SK wave rotors F&R. few other appearance mods.
Just an update for anyone who may be looking at Bell helmets...
Went and tried on a bunch of helmets at a couple places (a couple Arais, Shoei, etc) and decided Bell. The Bell's fit my head perfectly and really impressed me.
That being said I was planning on getting the RS-1 but the Vortex is half the price, and VERY similar. The RS-1 is built with some more solid materials, has a locking shield mechanism, but beyond that the difference between the RS-1 and Vortex is minimal.
The Vortex is Dot & Snell, and feels like you are putting your head into a pillow. And the airflow on it is crazy; it moves a lot of air.
So anyone in the market for a helmet make sure to check out Bell, they really impressed me.
My bud and I have gotten B-new Arai's off ebay for less than 350$ and Yes multiple times...just don't think your gonna get a 2011 MFG date with that but for street use and TD's its good enuff..
