    ahh, that's better.

it's amazing what removing all that touring stuff can do. bars are back to stock for now instead of on home made risers. the gas in the tank had turned back into prehistoric life so it was drained. it took a whole day and half a can of gumout to get the carbs off, cleaned , and back on. just needs a new battery. once it's running reliably and road safe i can start the cafe'ing.

i suspect it will attract women by the flock...and any women that wouldn't flock to it, i don't want to be asscociated with anyway.

first of all, i don't intend to go hacking up anything. there will be no cafe racer changes made that can not be undone. all stock parts that are removed will be cleaned labeled and stored. it's basically going to be a bolt on project so i can restore it back to factory specs in the future should i so choose.

i'm not planning on going the extreme cafe route either, no clubmans, just super bike bend bars. no rearsets, the stock peg location is fine. i want to keep it fairly comfortable to cruise about one. it does need a bikini fairing though.

I think the clubmans would be the shiznit... I am all about removing and labeling the old parts. Rock on!

yeah, one does not see very many true 4 into 4 exhausts anymore. it's just a shame those pipes are almost too valuable to leave on the bike...$400 bucks per side for reproduction replacements...actual origanals in good shape are slightly more rare than albino rhinos.

That's what I always called the Pumpkin bike! Always coveted those when I saw them for sale on the side of the road. A friend bought one that was a mess. We never did get it restored. Hope you bring that one back to life.

I see boatloads of UJMs on the road these days. Fuel prices will bring all the 80s bikes back on the road!

    Nice!

Amazing how these old Hondas have stood the test of time.
You got a good deal there!

I wonder if you can get some good sticky sport bike like
    rubber on that?

no, you can't. But it doesn't want/need it! That frame would crack and the forks would bend under cornering load! LOL!

uh, yeah. even in cafe racer form it's more for looking cool than going fast. drum rear brake and that single disc up front doesn't look any more promising. nevermind the bicycle tires...though a few laps would be fun. just to see what it was like back when men were men and sheep were scared.
