I bet at least 75% of those people own something knock off and would buy it again. But because its in the industry and friends with people they're acting all high and mighty.
And its great cause someone gets called out in the thread about that.
I'm guilty of purchasing Chinese knock-off levers for the SV and 900RR, because they're usually throw-away items in a crash.
Stands, on the other hand, support the entire weight of your bike. Sometimes for months on end. I'll stick with quality stands. (2 Pit-Bull reverse handled rear stands, 1 Vortex rear stand, 1 Woodcraft triple tree front stand, and 2 Pit-Bull triple tree front stands)
If its a copy of a quality stand, it would also theoretically be a quality stand.
By that logic, fucking a tranny that looks just like Angelina Jolie doesn't make you gay.... OK, obviously I'm just fucking with you, but you see what I'm getting at. Just because something looks the same doesn't mean it is. One could be (and likely is) made out of thin pot metal stick-welded by a half blind 11 year old chinese girl (who looks NOTHING like Angelina Jolie).
I'd fuck such tranny....

Muhammad Ali.
Spend the money and finish the suit, or shut the fuck up. I'll buy whatever the fuck I want with my money, including whorish blind Chinese welder girls
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

"For those who do not know, the Pit Bull Tire Tree was definitely copied by Charlie Hon's company (Powerstands, PSR, POS or whatever it is today). Their original ad had a photo of our product painted in their colors. I recognized it as sure as a DNA match. We have already spent a ridiculous amount on patent protection and legal fees. Charlie Hon responded to our Cease and Desist letter by challenging us to take him to court knowing this would cost 10 times more than we had already spent. Instead, we have chosen to spend our resources developing the best American-made products possible. We thank all of the racing community that chooses Pit Bull products over the Chinese knock-offs.

He also went ahead and said that they will not pay out contingency to anyone who also has powerstands as a sponsor

So is everyone going to piss and moan at all the cruiser riders because they're not riding a real Harley?
Didn't think so. So why is this any different?

Point is unless you've never ever puchased a knock off of something you actually have nothing to say since you're just as guilty as the people who are buying the knock offs regardless of what type of product it is.
Yep, but Honda did get sued by Harley. Not to mention I still get scoffed at by the occasional weekend Hog rider.
But then again Honda didn't strip down a Harley and sell it as a Honda.
What that bike stand company did was pretty low. But it was a pretty good alternative to a lawsuit using the internet to try and stop these fools.
I don't recall specifying *metric* cruisers.
I wish to state that in no way shape or form do I endorse ripping off someone's patented design however, ripping off another's design is, unfortunately enough, how some businesses proceed on building their foundation. Sad as it is, it's true and it's happening in more places than we care to think about.
Read more if you wish. The aftermarket now produces every single part on a Harley motorcycle in multiple forms: engines, transmissions, frames, forks, brakes, wheels, gas tanks and so on can all be purchased in the aftermarket.
What this means is that you can now go to suppliers, buy all the parts you need and assemble, completely from scratch, your own custom Harley-like machine using off-the-shelf parts. You buy an aftermarket frame, an aftermarket engine, an aftermarket transmission, and so on. Once you have it all together, you have a something that looks a lot like a "Harley," but it does not include a single Harley-Davidson part.
Looking quickly, you would think that the car below is a Nissan Maxima.
It's actually a Samsung SM5 . A Maxima clone right down to about 90% of the interior. I know this because I was in a car very much like this one when I was in S Korea.
