Near the $1.25 toll I got a report of a silver 650R (just like mine, ahem) down.... "rider standing in his shorts and tee shirt, bike is not standing...."
I hope it was not one of us, by THAT description....![]()
I was driving home from Westborough on Rt. 9 Eastbound yesterday and saw a silver 650R riding behind a CBR. Let me just say that they looked like they were living thier life a quarter mile at a time...
I also heard of a crash on the Leverett Connector this morning.
Be safe out there everyone. Remember, you are invisible!![]()
It's the summer of the squid.
I'm friends with someone on facebook whose boyfriend crashed with no helmet on. She posted pics of him with his face all torn up, but the dude's healing at any rate. Two weeks later, another pair of her friends crashed on the highway. I did a little facebook-digging, and naturally the kid that's hurt has a page full of gear-and-helmet-less wheelies, stoppies, and the obligatory crew of squids in shorts posing at Hampton.
Hopefully for them, chicks really do dig scars.
Funny story about witnessing highway debauchery...
A couple weeks ago I was on my way into work on 495N when I saw a late model GSX-R heading on the southbound side easily pushing 120mph weaving in and out of traffic. Later that day I saw the same bike listed for sale on craigslist, in the description stating that he had eluded authorities and had to get rid of the bike ASAP.
Ah-hahahaaa.... You should see the squid I saw in Cleveland this summer in my Profiles in Squid post:

I would think, if someone crashed on a highway this morning, the likelihood of them posting up here so quickly that they did so would be small. They might be at a hospital for a while, or something.

The fact that he was standing in his shorts and t-shirt would lead me to think that he walked away from this alleged "crash" virtually unscathed. I'm not sure all the facts presented have been verified by an independent authenticator at this early hour and I didn't hear anything about this mishap on my CB radio so I will wait until the dust settles before I go making the hospital rounds. I should also mention that I have almost NO formal medical training, so please don't PM me for a prognosis on this or any other case.

I always love the helmet on the back, no helmet on the rider thing. I see it in NH cities all the time and it makes me laugh every time.

Quite possible they would rather not wear one, but keep it on the bike so that when they come to MA they can toss it on, rather than turn around. It's not uncommon to see bikes pulled over near the border so the rider can throw a helmet on. Live and let live... whatever.
Aaaahhhhh, except I noted I took the pic in Cleveland..... which is miles away from ANY border....
The size of the chicken strips is pretty funny too.
And while it is unlikely the bloke who crashed would be up in the forum by morning, it is possible he reads here or his friends might and they could 'splain it to us.
Believe me, it is verified, my GF saw it on her way from Boston to Worcester this a.m. and she did a double take because of the bike involved. I know she was seeing stars, ahem, but I'm not THAT good.![]()
That's the dumbest shirt a motorcycle rider could ever wear.
I make my kid gear up in armored mesh and full-face helmet and gloves when she's up from college, but I wore a t-shirt up in Maine the last two weeks. A full-face helmet, mesh-kevlar gloves, jeans, boots, but the leather on the bike is too damned hot this time of year. So sue me, I never crash out anyway.Nobodys crashes a C-14, right?

a bunch of those squids live around me and "stunt like they daddy" and they are the biggest tools you'll ever meet, up on one wheel all the time with no shirts and shorts. Ill laugh my ass off when they eat shit and look like swamp thing forever
I never quite understood the anamosity towards people riding with no gear. You'll laugh your ass off when they crash and scar themselves for life? Why? Just because they're not wearing the gear you think they should be wearing? So for that you wish them pain?
That's an odd place to come from....I'm going to show Degsy this thread, he's been into saving NESR from itself these days maybe he could do some good in here....![]()

I guess, I don't know.....its not so much that I care if something happens to them, its the fact that I don't get how someone could put effort into thinking about , or wishing , something bad about others just because they're not wearing gear??? That just seems odd to me...

...probably just so they learn their lesson, and/or stop riding motorcycles altogether. Either way, it's funny when people eat shit. Ever watched scarred on MTV?
