    Custom CBR-1k Project

Here are some photos of our latest project .. its a custom stretched out CBR 1000. the bike will have a stereo including Video/Nav unit, 4 channel amp w/ 6 1/4 separates, a 10" subwoofer and rear view camera and ipod etc etc... i custom fabricated a fiberglass windscreen from a hand made mold of the factory windscreen. it now has Sharkskinz street upper and lower fiberglass fairings to which i will fiberglass in my new fiberglass windscreen. And will retain the rear seat despite the sub enclosure in the rear.

Why did you glass a new windscreen? Are you going to mold it so its a one piece flush upper?

yes, im going to fiberglass the two together. i did it this way so it wont end up like all the other customs you see that crack when they mold plastic to plastic.. im doing it the way it should be done..

the windscreen came out so nice out of the mold im thinking of making a bunch and selling them.

That's pretty cool... this bike is definitely going to be a bike night hero, but at least it'll look good.

Is a bigger stator being put into this bike to generate more power? I'd think he would need alot with that amp and sub.

Tire looks mighty close to the speaker housing to me. Planning on running a strut or jacking it up? I hope the owner isn't a big bloke!

I asked Rich the same question. He said that in its present position, the suspension is bottomed out, and it's an air-adjusted system. So it's basically a rigid swingarm. (it's a showbike anyway, so it won't be ridden)

yeah what he said... except the part about it not being ridden.. the bike will be a fully functional rider and the owner plans on using it ....
