I have not used them, but I ride with the Etymotic ER20's which seem quite similar. I love them. They do not reduce as much as the traditional type - but they don't sound like you're underwater either. It's a much more natural feeling. I will not ride without them. It even feels wrong going 5 minutes down the street. The wind is just so loud.

Very easy to insert, though it can take a bit of getting used to putting the helmet on just right. Sometimes the hard end catches a bit and disturbs their placement so I slide my finger up the side of the helmet liner to re-position them. It's second nature now.

Nope but i like these -http://earplugsonline.com/
They stay in and are comfortable. Kinda like a play- doh putty material.
Wear them for sleeping while camping out often also.

Re: Anyone has any experience with the NoNoise ear plugs?

    FYI,

I was using custom made foam earplugs for years. Recently I switched over to off the shelf cheapie 32 DB NR disposables that came in a large 200 pair box.

They are far more comfortable and feel better on long rides. They keep the noise down just the same as the custom $$$$ ones.

I've tried the putty, the plug style reusables, etc. I keep coming back to the cheap disposable.

    I am using these ear plugs: SALE - E-A-R E-Z Fit Uncorded Earplugs Individual Polybags - 2 Pair/Box - $25.25 - PKSafety.com
Very soft and very comfortable. These are rated among the softest ear plugs by the earplugstore (don't remember exact link).
The only reason I am considering anything else is the disposable block all noise, I can't talk to people when they are in.

    +1

I bought the same one. They are really good they dont hurt your ears like the cheaper ones that you buy at drug stores.

You are not hearing me. I am happy with the softies, just trying to find the plugs that allow the good noise in and keep the bad noise out.
Sounds like the Etymotic ER20's might be a good option as well.

Ah, well with just the ER20's in, I can do decently well with moderate volume talking. But with the helmet on? They better be talking loud, and even then I still have to strain. I don't like to have anything more than a quick exchange with the helmet/ER20 combo on. Anything more than that and I tell them to wait a sec and remove everything.

I have them and do not like them. I did not find they blocked enough noise. You could hear conversation better, along with engine, wind, road noise. Perhaps they just do not fit my ear type, but I did try multiple ways of inserting them and no difference in the sound attenuation, they just did not work for me. I still use the 200 pack cheapies from HD.

Yeah, I've been using a contractor pack from Home Depot I bought a long time ago.
Those Moldex ones look like the same style. I might go that way for the individual packaging.

In a couple years, I imagine they'll have bluetooth noise-canceling in-ear ones that'll work with comms.
Until then, the cheapy foam ones are my favorite.

I didn't like the No Noise either. One actually got stuck in my ear and I couldn't reach the damn bugger! Hah, had to find a store that sold tweezers and grabbed finally liberated it. I now have a giant box of the green foam ones. The block sound much better, in fact almost too much better, but I still prefer them.

I have the no noise and I love the sound blocking, but I too lose them in my ear, I carry tweezers in my tank bag!
