Can't you just do a VIN check? If it comes up clear, apply for a duplicate title.
Yea its real easy, call the DMV run the vin Done deal.....

Yes you can run the VIN, no you can't apply for a duplicate. Only the original title holder can.

first of all - he posted this as a potential track bike, so if you get pulled over at 3am by cops, it's because your the idiot riding a track bike around in the middle of the night.
secondly, I sold a non-stolen bike IN SEASON with no title that was newer, for similar money.. so it's not obsurd
third, it's your discretion, buy it as is or call the police to check the vin if you're concerned.
disclaimer: judge the jockey's legitimacy based on posting crude pics on these forums, not for posting up a cheap bike that may or may not be stolen.
i think that was more of a joke. i think they got pulled over with the bikes in the back of their truck.
