I love those KTM's. A no limit bike!!
Life is a challenge. You can take the risk and experience it, or sit back and watch it go by. I choose to experience it. (W.L.Heath)
Fear is the incubated subjective perception of the inevitable.
I will be all over one of those, as soon as KTM imports them to the U.S., and that is expected to happen in 2006. Yes, I'm already saving my nickles....And, at that time, the 748 will be converted to racing duty. Good times.................

Can someone explain what the fascination is with having a dirtbike that apparently can be ridden on the street? (or is this one of those "The glass is half full/ half empty" things, in which case I should say, why would someone want a streetbike that looks like a dirtbike?![]()
Tim,
I think Mike (blackvfr) explain that to ya better than I.

Super moto schmooper moto +
Could not care less about racing.
What I do care about is bepopping along on 2ndary poorly paved, not engineered, and poorly maintained roads.
Pot holes, frost heaves, off camber, broken pavement, pavement patches, tar strips, culvert bumps. Many of the roads here in Ct and the northeast in general are literally paved dirt roads not designed highways.
It is dirt riding except for the pavement so a dirt bike with pavement tires and you go fast.
Previous incarnations were based on smallish motors so you would give up to much motor power fun
The 950 twin will be just about 100 HP not great but should still be fun. Add a steering damper and a real seat and should be perfect weapon for my
Obnoxious passing point and shoot style.

Well don't deny yourself
More fun flying at 30 MPH then cruisin at 120
I also fear with sprawl etc that dirt riding is in its twilight so get on while the getting is good

What he said!!!!!!!!!
This KTM is a quite a bit more than your typical Supermotard bike. In fact, this bike is more along the lines of a Ducati Monster or a Triumph Speed Triple than a Supermotard.
