I am not talking book value, I am talking straight up sale price where the bike would sell lol
I have a 2011 GSXR-600 completely stock with about 25xx miles on it.
I was put in a financial hole due to a significant other, I put an end to that and need to dig out now.
I paid $9900 and the dealer would give me $8,000 trade, so I am wondering just how hurt will I be if I try to sell it outright?

I'd say you could sell it for 7.5.

I'd go with the dealer and get the $8k. You would not have the head ache of selling. It is probably possible to get $500 more privately, but would require time...

the 8k was for trade not for them to buy the bike. I am thinking of selling the bike to get back on my feet financially so a trade is out of the question. Just was not sure if I could get more than 8k selling it outright or not.
I would think I could because dealers always try to get you on the trade in value but I don't know that much about bikes and trade/sale values which is why I am asking here trying to get some insight as to how to price it for
a sale.
its a gixxer aint worth poo...lol sry couldnt help it

BTW, how did you like the GSX-R600 as compared to your previous CBR600RR? They are similar purpose bikes. I have ridden a CBR600RR previously, but never a GSXR-R600.

call Motorcycles of Manchester or MOM's South. They will purchase outright...
One of the hard lesssons you will learn: brand new vehicles decline in value about 20% the moment you drive it out of the dealership. Now with autumn fast approaching that ain't going to help you either. I'd post it for 9 grand and grab anything above 8 grand. Things will get worse before they get worser...therefore dump it before winter or you might have to sustain further losses.
If you do not plan to keep it, advertise it for sale now.

Dealer said they would give me 8k for the bike and also 400 credit for buying my next bike. Not bad that means they cut me a $1400 check which I can use to title the trailer and sell that too.
They only want to give 1k for the trailer so it won't be sold to them lol
that's pretty solid.

headache route - take johnnyV's post, list it higher than it's worth, list it for a long time, and wait for someone dumb enough to pay you more than it's worth
easy route - take the dealer's offer

I won't say I told you not to buy a new bike, but a lot of other people surely did.
