Ok, feel a little odd asking this, but a few weeks ago I was down Wollaston beach and a couple bikes went by, one had a fur cover all over the body work...
What's that all about?
Really curious...

The theory of it (at least for stunt riders) is that fur protects the bodywork in case you dump the bike and if you do it a few times a day that sort of makes sense.
There are some guys who put fur on their seats, but that has to do with "chick magnet factor".
Performance Bikes had a picture of 9R onces with bodywork covered in mirror pieces. Obviously not for road use, but looked pretty cool.

I dunno if it's to 'protect' the bodywork as much as it is to hide all the dents and scratches. You can drop a furred bike 500 times and as long as the fur stays in tact it still looks better than it would without it.

You fuckin' SQUIDS!!!
Maybe I'll look into some exclusive 'NESR' fur seat covers!!![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
That actually looks decent on a yellow bike![]()

don't evennn get any ideas about putting that on all yellow bikes. what's next burnout boards and flashing neon lights. DOH!
Actually it does look pretty cool on yellow. OHHH, my brother jsut got me a set of flashing red tire caps. They light up with movement and last for over 200 hours (about a season). I will premier them tonight at the ice cream festival of squids if it doesn't pour rain.
The closest HID-looking setup I've seen is the PIAA Super Plasma's. Alot cheaper than a true conversion, and they look just like Mercedes headlights.Next squid purchase will be an HID conversion kit I've got my eye on...![]()

Yep, you're right...they don't compare to the real thing as far as how bright they are, plus I only have the stock wattage. I might try the higher wattage ones at some point. I'm all done buying stuff for the TL...hehe...finally! Now I can finish the stereo in my truck (ordered the last of the goodies yesterday) and take care of other shit that I've been meaning to get done. Fuckin' bike....sheesh...I NEVER thought I was gonna see the day when I didn't want to buy something for it.![]()

Damn, I've been looking at those for a while but I haven't bought them cuz I heard they mess up the balance of the wheel. Thoughts anyone?OHHH, my brother jsut got me a set of flashing red tire caps. don't waste your money. The flasing red caps are about 4 times taller than a stock cap and hit the brake line in the rear and teh brake itself in the front, so they won't work. Oh well, would've looked cool. My kids inherited them and think they are soooo cooool!!![]()
As for the lights. PIAA just came out with a new bulb. PIAA extreem series 4150k (HID=5000k) I saw them on www.autotoys.com a bit pricey but still cheaper than HID and these are pretty damn close.

PIAA Super Plasma bulbs are 5000k. I've been running them for the whole summer now. I like 'em, but they're not *that* much brighter than stock because I got the stock wattage ones. The low beams look just like Mercedes HID, and the high beams are just insanely bright and very, very white. As for the lights. PIAA just came out with a new bulb. I got them at http://www.autobulbdepot.com , which is sweet as hell.
