Order of importance helmet then gloves. After that pants then boots then a shirt then a jacket. After that you could go to full race gear with a back protector and leather pants.

I wore a full face gloves pants boots and a jacket With armor when I had a cruiser. My boss fell down on his bike and got a scraped up elbo pretty bad. If he was wearing a jacket it probably woulda only been a bruise.
