Just come to the next ride...........LM954RR and I will teach ya! Of course you have to develop your corner turning skills too. That way people can't truly label you a squid...........and if they do you can school their asses hehe.

Kham, we meet on that ride up to VT I was on the blue R1 and met you 1st thing in the morning. I'm not sure how far back you where but I pulled some small wheelies. I have a liter bike so power wheelies are easier, If I was you I would use the clutch method remember follow the websites guidlines but do it in baby steps no need to go flipping the thing. Once you master 1st gear 2nd gear only gets easier its less "tourqie" if thats a word? Take small steps before you know it you'll be pulling wheelies like mad!

Here is a quick vid of myself on a ride early in the season. Sorry to anyone who has already seen this.

    Stand Up wheelie

And If you got the time this one too.

    Doug, right?

I must be too far back so didn't see you doing wheelie. Really cool video. If I could get it up for 1sec. I'll be happy for now. I tried giving full throttle at one time, but my wheel just spin and that's before I know about the snapshut/blip open. According to the article in the Digital Magazine, the clutch method has less control for beginner. I'll try both with baby step like you said.

    Thanks

I just like pullin my little lame ass power wheelies, One time when I first got the Hawk it came up so fast the tank slapped me in the chest. On my sv650 I used to do powers in stop and go traffic. It depends on how daring and stupid you are(on the Hawk I'm daring, on the SV I was stupid)

kham, you and me gotta get together and learn to do wheelies, I feel like the uberdork riding around on a 750 and knowing I can only barely hop the front tire...

WOW, How did the license plate make out? I was at a bike show in Charlotte when this guy came in with one of those big Honda cruisers( I'm not what you call it,Harley look a like) and smoked that rear tire, The entire parking lot was smoked out, you couldn't see the bike or the crowd on the other side! We heard it pop and when the smoke cleared there was rubber on fire on the ground behind the bike! Awesome display!! I like to watch people beat the shit out of their bikes.

Matt I rode a friends Gixxer 750 the other day. There is no way that you should have any problems wheelieing one of those things. Just get it up to 7-8000 and whack it open to full throttle. Presto instant wheelie. Atleast thats how it worked for me and I had never done one before on anything! Good Luck.
