Need help and advice- bike problems

well about 2 months and less than 2k miles after I purchased a used 03 Daytona 955, I have come into a major problem.
Bike developed a ticking noise on my way to work one day,
I called the closest triumph dealer and asked some questions of the service guy there.
Preliminary diagnosis was a failed exhaust gasket, so I babied the bike home from work, right as I came to my place, the bike died, stalled out.
Now it is not starting. After searching the triumph boards, I ran into a guy with the same exact symptoms as my bike. turned out that a bearing had failed and damaged the crank.
So my question is, after that initial 30 day warranty that dealers give used bikes, are their hands clean of this bike?? Seems like a pretty big problem to have occurr in 2 months and less than 2k miles.
There was no extended warranty purchased.
    Any help is appreciated.

    thanks,
    Mike

In MA dealers are required to disclose any known defects or latent issues with a used vehicle at sale. They don't have to (but sometimes will) fix any problem beyong the 30 day warranty period. BUT if you can somehow determine that they knew there was some issue with whatever broke (bearing or whatever) then you can hold them responsible for the repair and then some... the trick is proving that they knew or reasonably should have known. tracking down the previous owner and or repair records is usually a good place to start. Especially if the dealer that sold you the bike had serviced it in the past. You probably want to find out exactly what is wrond with it first though. Take it in and talk with them and see if they will hook you up in the name of good business relations....

    good luck

    thanks,
I'm going to call them to see if they can help at all.
I doubt they ever serviced this bike before as they don't have triumph as a product line there.

not that I have heard of, but you never know.
Previous owner put 11k miles on it, I do have his info and may contact him to see if he may know anything.

I tried to contact the previous owner of my bike. Just to ask general questions about service history etc, I even sent a self addressed stamped envelope. the douche never wrote back.
