    The R has slightly different heads than the base 1098, the crank and rods are trick pieces too. Knowing Ducati, the price for a pair of complete 1098R heads, crank, and rods from the parts side of the house would likely blow away any savings you got by starting with a 1098 or S.

    Anyone notice the new Multi has a new head as well, flatter valve angle than before...

    Wow... the welds on that frame are like fine art!
