Place to buy rain boot covers?

I want to get some of those boot covers you can put over your boots for rain riding in case it rains tomorrow for the Penguin School...

Does Miles have them and will he be there tomorrow? If not, where could I pick them up on my way up to the track or near the track?

Street and Comp was at the track yesterday so I'd assume that they'll be there straight through the weekend.

A lot of them close at 5 or 6... any common stores that might have them as well depending on how late I get going to head up there?

Just be real careful putting anything on your feet that might affect grip on the pegs.

It's one thing cruising on the street... totally different when you're flopping back and forth over your seat and counting on your feet holding you up.

The best solution is a set of rain boots... which are boots that are getting a bit worn and should be replaced anyway. Same for gloves.

I've got the Alpinestars Supertech R's that have an inner & outter boot... I put the inner boot on, then some plastic bags, then the outter boot. Obviously the outter boot got wet, but otherwise it worked PISSAH!

    HUGE +1!!!!!

I have boot covers that I've used on the street for years. They're the rain gear fabric type with the bottom of the foot open. Tried using them at the April TTD and it got caught on my peg coming out of turn 12. Scared the shit out of me and I wasn't even close to race pace.

If you're going to go with a cover, make sure they have some sort of hard sole and aren't going to catch on the peg.

Edit: For racing though, I would recommend just using your boots. You have enough other stuff to think about, especially in the wet, you don't need to be worrying about a different feel on the pegs.

I didn't post up a reply but I did see these posts before I headed up and took their advice.

I had great foot grip on the pegs and wet feet... no big deal. The more I thought about it I would rather have wet feet than no grip. Most of the options I checked out might allow my boots to slide around inside them so I just canned the whole idea.

As I continue riding/racing, when I replace my current sidi boots they will remain as my rain boots, same for my held gloves.

Thanks for all the replies, folks
