well, attempted theft anyway (of course, the ass-hat didn't get it... you can't just peel those things off... did tear it up pretty good, though).
The funny thing is that the sticker is set to expire in less than 2 weeks.
Never had a problem here (or in NYC for that matter).
Anybody else seen this?
Maaaaaaan, just once I'd like to catch someone in the act.
i've heard of many attempts, hell i know guys with cars who do the same thing. But like you said those stickers are made with a weird material where it just shreds instead of peeling off like most vinyl stickers.
This is lame. Damn sticker only cost $15.00. The nerve some people have.![]()

You mean, motorcycles have to get inspected every year?

That can't be true. I haven't got an inspection in over 10 years.
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
I had a sticker stolen from my wife's car...Makes sense, inspection stations are getting tougher, it's easier to steal them...![]()

true.
The least they could do is target a stock bike, though. I may have some trouble myself when I go in for a sticker (bike's got race baffles)... so I may have to switch back to stock exhaust, get a sticker, switch back to the race baffles. Anyone caught stealing from a fellow rider (ie: me) gets an immediate groin pummeling.
I bet its those damn squids!!!! I don't understand why someone would steal it when it only costs $15.00. Only thing I can think of is that the bike is so tricked out that it wouldnt pass inspection.
When in doubt, go to a Harley place and get it inspected!!! They usually overlook a LOT.
first of all anyone who would steal an inspection sticker doesn't care that it's only $15.
they probably know that their bike won't pass inspection and that's why they're looking to steal one.

Its not about the costs for some people its about the hassle if your humpty won't pass because of the ass spewing fart monger pipes installed. Or maybe it was because they don't want to spend the half hour going to an inspection station...
or maybe it is about the $15.

I wish they would stop the BS about pipes and stuff.
If it passes noise tests & passes emissions (almost all do right now) then they shouldn't give you shit.
Even with the new super strict tests coming up I bet most bikes which are setup for the new emissions will still pass with aftermarket cans as long as the catalytic converter is still there and the EFI is not f*cked up.
You can get them off. All you need is a hair dryer. I think Sharper image sells a pocket battery powered one for just such a use!!!
