Looking for something....electric

    Re: Looking for something....electric

aw bummer, was hoping for you to be the first NESRian to make the jump and get your input

    maybe later

@onecheek - the intense cycles Tazer is about what I'm looking for! But they're mostly a $3,000-$4,500 bike, and I am pretty sure I can likely get a $1,500 Haibike...the all mountains are $1,300 on offer up; I might even be able to snag one for a grand.

Apparently they're not good Santiago Peak rides

eMTB's do offer assistance, but going up a grade (which is what most bicycling is) will drain your battery fast and chop your range, so you should be pedaling on top of its own power. Contrary to what people think e-bikes are, you still gotta do a lot of pedaling to get the most range out of it

So it's likely a good local trail bike for mtb-ish stuff (I've heard Santiago Oaks, the Luge, etc.) but not even close to a proper dual sport ride

It's still fine; I'm just looking to hit local trails after work maybe 1-2x/month. Not having some sort of hobby that gets me out into nature is driving me a little nuts.

I've already been beaten to the punch by at least one NESRian...

Watched a video last night on youtube of the new enduro offering from https://www.arctic-leopard.com/.

Based outta China but said it was a stark varg level bike when it comes to enduro. Beyond that I know nothing.

Ha, yes, you still gotta put in work on an eMTB. I liked the Tazer for when I rode after work... on a conventional MTB I'd get 1 run in before the sun went down. On the Tazer I'd get 2 or 3 runs in, but that's SoCal heavy climb, big descent, and repeat.

A Haibike might be great for you, I'm just not familiar with them and making an assumption based on price point. I like to hit drops and jumps so things like suspension, brakes, and overall geometry are really important to me and ultimately command a higher price. Or maybe my friend group peer pressures me into spending too much on parts I don't need

If you need to get your fix on occasion, you can borrow my WR250R.
