I checked on line, both autozone and walmart suppose to have the oil but when I got there they didn't have any. As for oil filter, all I found was Fram which most people recommend not to use it. Please help.
I go to autozone. I usually get Mobil 1 4t. Filters I have to get online.
what oil are you looking for?
i use mobil1 4t too and always find it at autozone. you could also get the rotella thats rated for motorcycles

If there is a purolator gold filter that fits your bike I like them. Advance auto jsuay carries those and the motorcycle specific Mobil.
I buy my oil and filter during normal business hours during the week. When motorcycle specific stores are open.
I use spectro oil for my machines.
Napa Gold filter for the Bandit. (spin-on)
Oem Honda for my Nighthawk. (cartridge)
Just bought 4T from autozone. Not all of them have it, but they're out there.
4t from autozone, filters and crush washers from the dealer or online.
Rotella from walmart.
Filters, find the purolator equivalent.
k&n filters from d2moto when they have their 40% off sale
used yamalube from the dealer now got a case of valvoline for $2 a quart to use up. then i'll probably be going to rotella from wally world. the 2.5 gallon for $30 is a pretty smoking deal.
I ride an 09 zx6r. I just moved to Quincy this past week. Checked out Autozone, Advance auto, and Walmart. Couldn't find 10w-40, any filter other than Fram, and spark plugs NGK CR9E. I guess maybe the these stores here in Quincy don't carry them for motorcycle. Wasted an entire day driving around.
Been checking online tonight and it looks like Autozone do have what I am looking for. I will have to go to Stoughton to pick up. Thanks guys!

This is a few years old but it gives you a better understanding of oil and how it works. motorcycle specific stuff is near the bottom of the page. http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Oils1.html This may help with motorcycle specific oil http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo...ables.html#Oil

Why not just go to a motorcycle shop?

Two things help getting older - BMW'S and Metamucil
I've never been to a walmart that didnt have my rotella and I've always gotten filters either online or at a honda dealer
I didn't even know there was motorcycle specific oil. Oh well, guess I'll look into that next season.

It's due to most motorcycles sharing the oil between the engine and trany so you need something that will work with clutch plates (if you have a wet clutch, which you do on your bike).
I get my oil from my sponsor AMSOIL. Best oil on the market. Dave is up at the track every race weekend with oil and oil filters, so come on up. We are in North garage 11. You can also click on the link in my signature to get to the website or pm me and I can get you squared away.

This is what I got from Autozone
NGK CR9E plugs
Valvoline 10w-40 motorcycle oil (cheapest - too much $$$ for the synthetic)
Bosch 3300
Replaced the oil in my bike for the first time ever. No problem removing the filter at all. I have a small oil filter wrench cap fits perfectly. Done changing oil quicker than changing in my car.
I'm with many others here. Get the filters from any Auto store (I usually get Purolator filters from Advanced Auto) and I get my Rotella by the gallon at Wally-World (walmart) usually two at a time so I don't have to go back too often.
If you look around, there is usually a rebate at Advanced for these filters. Last time I ended up buying four filters because they were a dollar a piece after rebate. Can't beat that!
