This sounds really cool. If you guys don't mind a stranger at your place filming this "How to" I can shoot it in HD format and have video up on Youtube.
I know for sure I am lubing the chain wrong, I have the white gunk all over the place. I also need to keep tightening my clutch cable.
Well, I offer my video service as long as the date/time is convenient for everyone.
Available weekends only, but pm in case I may be busy.

OK I'm setting the first date for this coming Tuesday (8-11) at 7PM
102 Wilson st. Spencer Ma if you need better directions or want a contact number just in case PM me.
We will be changing Kawibaby's oil, I will show how to lube and adjust a chain, and probably a small bit of checking, adjusting brakes.
That would be pretty cool. I am going to have to set up a weekend clinic to get hessogonnashowussuspension and flyinggsxr to the garage. So you can come by and film that.

Kawibaby7 - I already told you i would change your oil/basic maintenance,,,,y dont u want me to?lol

Spencer, MA!?!?! My buddy Joe lives there, and he does a whole lot on his car, including taking the whole engine apart and working/cleaning it like hell. Not too shabby for someone who is not a mechanic and doing the work himself.
I most likely will not make it this weekend, as Saturday I will be up in Lowell, MA for festivities.
I look forward to learning a few basic things I can do myself, and hopefully we can help other backyard mechanics too.

i dove right into attempting to adjust my chaing this last weekend. found it wasn't that hard, buttttt i realized my issue is that it's time for a new chain and sprockets :/
i would love to come out tonight, but didn't realize you are over an hour away from me...

i actually already got in touch with him last week when i was initially trying to figure out the problem. i happen to have a friend in quincy who was a bike mechanic. mainly worked on choppers, but has an R1, said he would be willing to help me do it.
i was interested in coming to this session mainly for the camaraderie, but perhaps some other time

Thanks to everyone who stopped by. It was a nice little turnout. Hopefully I gave good advice that will help some of you keep better care of your bikes.
Hope to do this again and cover other maintenance items.
Well than maybe you could make it to one that I have on the weekend. It's always nice to meet new people.
Thanks for showing up. It sure is a nice way to break up the week.

i assume whatever sprockets he's sending me will fit...?? guess that might be worth asking. this is what i'm getting, and i chose the "stock sprockets" option:

Glad I was able to help. And see I go out of my way to show how to do things without the proper tools. That's why I purposely broke my chain tool and demonstrated how it can be done with a C-clamp and PATIENCE.![]()
